I put a puppy on hold with Vanna Black for $500, I intended to buy the male, but I found another male yorkie that I felt had a better chance to throw tiny puppies.
When I let vanna know that I wanted to either get my deposit back or she could keep the deposit if i could change it to another puppy. Her response was that I could switch to another puppy named mia, but i had to do it that day or she would not do it. I asked her if she would try to sell him for full price if she would give my money back or transfer it to another puppy because I didn't want Mia, she said no. I told her that because the puppy was only 4 weeks old and i was letting her know so quickly that i felt she should at least let me transfer to another puppy or if she would atleast try to sell him now so she could get full price for him that she should ethically return my money. one of her facebook messages to me made it sound like if i backed out before the puppy was 8 weeks old i would be able to get the money back.
But in her contract it clearly states that the $500 was for putting the puppy on hold.
I sell yorkies myself, and I feel that if i had backed out right when the puppy was ready to sell at 8 weeks she should have kept my deposit. But she is just keeping my money because she can. She has every legal right to keep my deposit, but its not ethical if you ask me, she has every chance to sell the male for full price, but she said she is still keeping it no matter what. I have all the facebook messages to prove that. She says she tried to work with me, but all she offered was the one female and i had to do it that day. That is all the truth and you can decide if you want to work with Vanna.
Also please keep in mind, i paid her via pay pal, i tried to open a dispute with pay pal but because I sent her the money to her instead of her invoicing me, i cant open a dispute via paypal.
Note: Vanna's signature is not anywhere on her contract, there is only my personal signature.
