I was assured by the sales person that the Rect table w/marble inlay would be protected by their 5 Year Protection Plan if I purchased it, which I did. Then, 3 years later when a ceiling fan fell down on the table and cracked one of the tiles, I called to let the know that it needed to be fixed and I was told by Natalie, Manager of Value City Furniture that I should read the last page of the "5 Year No Worry" Service Agreement which states: "Marble surfaces" are not covered under this policy."
When I told her I was assured by their sales person that it was covered, she again, referred me to the last page of the Agreement. I consider this to be "fraudulent" and was given incorrect information at the time of the sale just so I would purchase the Protection Plan. I was told only the "wood" damage would be fixed. What good is that, I'll still have a defective dining room table with the tile cracked???
I want the Public to know, not to purchase Value City Furniture's Protection Plan without getting specific details in writing first as to what piece of furniture would be covered first! I have been duped and I want Justice.
To make it quick. They tell you that is 45% APR. No they take half of your payments per month talking about a rental fee but do not explain that. So you end up owing thousands of dollars for $600 couch...... And each time you call them and ask them why your bill is so high they can never explain. Horrible company. And I will continue to post this into people know how bad they are
I went online to order a queen size bed with a mattress for my granddaughter. I chose value city furniture. I the keyed in "queen beds with mattress" it said showing results of queen bed with mattress. I then scrolled down and chose the one i wanted to purchase after reading the description. No where in the description did it say " mattress not included" i borrowed a truck and picked it up today only to be told that none of their beds come with mattresses. I thought the guy that loaded it on the truck was mistaken and brought the bed home anyway and called the store. She also told me none of the beds come with mattresses.i have nowhere to turn but 6 on your side. That is at least false advertizing and i should get the mattress with the bed. Its ridiculous. I dont have the money for a mattress on top of what i paid for a bed that saud it comes with a mattress. I know this miight sound petty to some people but i am a single grandmother with custody of my granddaughter. I work very hard for my money and cant afford to be screwed over like this. I think they owe me a mattress.
Omplaint Details Purchased a sofa from value city furniture and also purchased the extended warranty. Value city provides the contractor for any warranty issues however the contractor they are using are not honoring the warranty and keep cancelling or not showing up to appointment. Contacted value city furniture in Orland and was told that all managers were in a meeting and I will be called back. I was never called back and saw furniture repair company will not keep the scheduled appointment. This is value city's contractors and therefore their responsibility to the customer. I will have no choice after this to pursue legal action against value city and saw. My sofa still has not been addressed. I have all the receipts proving my case as well as phone messages from the contractor confirming both appointment dates and times.
I purchased 2 white leather theatre loveseats and a matching reclining sofa in fall of 2012 from Value City Store in West Mifflin PA after the first year the leather started showing signs of peeling and cracking it got worse and now there are spots on the arms and all over the seats where the leather is rubbing off on to people clothing. I have never experienced anything like this and all three pieces are all doing the same thing. I would like to return the furniture.
I purchased the fabric protection for a sofa and, lo and behold, when I filed a claim for a stain that I could not remove, it gets denied. Somewhere in all of the fine print and legal mumbo jumbo lies a clause that the claim must be filed within 10 days or it's not covered. This certainly is not brought up durng the sales process, nor during the signing of the paperwork. They just tell you to call a phone number if you get a stain; nothing about the stipulations. These deceptive practices are what make me never want to do business with comanies like this again. So long, VCF and good riddance.
