Vacation Rental Pros Reviews
I currently have a BBB complaint filed against this company.
The rented a house that was uninhabitable, and I am a camper, so I am not picky at all. This house had sustained damage to the chimney, according to the maintenance department of VRP.
The carpet was wet and moldy and the house smelled extremely bad. It was an unhealthy place to stay so I requested an alternative. I gave a wide range area IN WHICH I WAS WILLING TO STAY. They offered only one.
According to the website, its price was comparable to the one we rented originally. However they wanted $974 more for the "upgrade." They blatantly gouged the price, knowing that we were 8 hours from home. They gave no consideration to the fact that we did not want an upgrade, we had no choice but to move, due to their negligence. Since then, they have given me the run around about our agreements, they have blatantly lied to me and about the situation, and they have attempted to charge my credit card several times without authorization.
They have been very dishonest and disorganized. My advice is to STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
We reserved a rental property for two months based on the information provided in a VRBO listing and paid for the rental over a period of months as required by Vacation Rental Pros. Arriving at the property the lock box did not work properly so we tried to reach VRP but no answer for two days on the third day we gained access to the property which was a dump, broken windows, mold in the shower, splintered floors and more. Not as described in the listing. We complained and were told we would be taken care of by moving us to other properties for the remainder of our two month stay. We had contact with VRP many times and had problems which needed to be addressed as the property we were first moved to did not have the amenities as we were told. Each day we were lied to about what was happening and about it being necessary for us to move to another property because the one we were in was booked after a certain date. We were eventually told we would need to pay and additional $3000+ to complete the last 16 days of our stay and move to another property. We declined. They had told us we would be reimbursed for the first two days we spent in a motel. That never happened nor was any deposit returned. In total we were cheated by a very dishonest group of people out of 18 days of a two month stay.
I would recommend that everyone stay away from this company.
I filed a complaint with the Florida Attorney General who has referred the issue to the licensing bureau responsible for licensing this type of company and recorded the complaint for future use.
