The last snowstorm that we had which was on 17 January we had in some parts of Rhode Island half an inch to an inch of snow and that was all and all of our guys were on site servicing the sites as the snow was coming down and putting salt down as well before hand pretreating but of course because the conditions were freezing temperatures the salt wasn’t activating but nevertheless the guys were still on site taking care of the half inch to an inch of rain/snow . We ended up getting a couple of work orders for salting and plowing which was fine but then the kicker was we ended up getting terminated from the two sides that got half inch of snow/rain . USM said to us that they terminated us because we had too many work orders in for that snow day . Does that make any sense to any of you? Work orders are supposed to be to relate to the vendors such as ourselves that there is work that needs to be performed work orders are not supposed to be used against the contractor in a negative manner but USM stated to us that they fired us because we had too many work orders in during this rain snow event of a half-inch that we couldn’t keep up. Now all of you know that this is complete bullshit and if you’ve worked for USM before you know the game that they are playing . I told my husband I had a feeling that USM was going to pull this crap on us either in January or February so I wanted his guys to take photos every hour when they were on site at the location so that they had proof and could cover themselves if in fact they got terminated for anything . Not only did we get proof we went in and spoke to the store managers who said they were completely happy with all of our services . Nevertheless USM terminated us on those sites regardless . When asking USM for reasoning for termination they said too many work orders were put in against us for that snow event . That doesn’t make any sense because in the contract it doesn’t state that work orders are negative issue towards the contractor and it doesn’t make any sense because we had photos of everything happening we had conversation with Store managers signatures from the store managers and photos from the sites . It didn’t matter they terminated us and said they would back charge a*s and I’m saying to myself are you kidding me we already reached into her pocket the last month over $5000 and salt services for all of our locations because they don’t pay their vendors enough money to ensure vendors are paid properly. USM gives us $18,000 for servicing one site and with that $18,000 for a season starting in September ending in May you’re supposed to pay your employees to employees in your vehicles on site salt services today three times a week possibly more snow events hourly wages liability insurance says that are upwards of $5 million and on top of that snow insurance says all on the contractors back and you’re supposed to divide this up within eight months and survive and make a profit which you and I both now is definitely not happening and I know if this is happening to our company that this is happening to so many other companies . So after being fired and terminated they’re going to back charge us and how do we pay our employees out of our own pocket since now they’re not going to pay us so they win all the way around there not going to pay us stating that we failed on our services they get to pocket that money and we have employees knocking on our door for their money for services looking to get paid it makes no sense that Home Depot will pay their client $80,000 per site for snow season Snow service removal but they will intern turn around and pay their subcontractor $18,000 or less for the season and expect us to survive I think that all of us need to come together and boycott this type of company get a law passed in the government that companies like this can’t take advantage of small businesses like ourselves and that payment the larger part of the payment needs to go to the contractor actually servicing the site not the maintenance company finding the subcontractor. On top of all that I’ve never seen my husband be so harassed by a company ever phone calls constantly harassment in the form of ... A manager from USM stating constantly calling my husband on the phone saying if he was an on site or his employees were on site she didn’t want to have to call him and scream at him can you believe that? What type of professional services say that to somebody? Not only that in a phone conversation my husband was having with the same person she stated to him over the phone that she had called the store managers from Home Depot and she said they said to her there’s 3 inches of snow on the ground and why isn’t your provider here plowing and my husband was on the phone with her at that time standing next to the store manager and said to her really? I’m standing with the store manager right now and there’s not even a half inch of snow on the ground and she panicked and hung up the phone . This is complete harassment and we need to do something about it this can’t go on any longer we need come together do something against this company and come together for our rights so that we can actually survive and. She a decent living instead of struggling to survive In fear of getting terminated. Anyone feel free to contact me so we can come together and do something.

USM Inc USM SERVICES INC USMAINTENANCE Began our snow services contract fall 2017.m. Had worked the previous year for them when in feb 2017 A contractor failed on three of their Home Depot site in Rhode Island and USM gave us the sites for a reduced rate until the end of the season . They hired us this year supposedly a three-year contract we took on four sites for Home Depot sites for snow services . The season was going perfect the end of 2017 the beginning of 2018 we had a lot of services almost 3 to 4 services every week because of the extremely cold weather conditions and snow so we were constantly at the Home Depot sides servicing them every time you asked him would call we would pick up the phone we never avoided a phone call ever and when they asked us to go do something we did it we never yelled at them we never disrespected them at all and our guys were constantly working and on site .
