I received a call from an employee of USEFS. regarding an inquiry I had submitted via the website. The employee was Dereck Carder, the information he gave me regarding consolidating my debt sounded too good to be true so I decided to do some research on my own. I found out that the employee I was working with, Dereck, or should I say "DEREK CARDER" had been indicted on federal charges of identity theft and credit card trafficking. I immediately halted my process as I was fearful of giving this man my financial and personal information.
I reached out to their "HR" department, the result was a run around and them saying they would look into it. Its very clear that this company is negligent when it comes to their hiring process and the protection of their customers information. I am just thankful that I didn't proceed and give this criminal all my financial information.
When I received the letter in the mail about reducing debt, I thought it came at a perfect time because I found myself in more debt every passing month. I decided to call the company and see how they could help my situation. That was the worst mistake I have ever made.
I thought everything Austin Alberghini told me was too good to be true, but again, I was desperate. He even sent links to the company's Better Business Bureau rating, but upon closer inspection later, the BBB had not actually rated them. I even found links to different business profiles (LinkedIn, facebook, etc), but the profiles were not as complete as they should have been, but again, I discovered all of this after signing the papers.
Either way, I told Austin the next day I did not want the service, but he did not seem to want to take no for an answer. He even transferred me to one of his "partnering companies" so I could hear about debt consolidation services. I finally hung up and contacted my credit card company to make sure that the services they were offering (a lowered interest rate) was valid. To my dismay, it was not. All of the credit card companies said they did not lower interest rates by being contacted by debt reduction companies.
Needless to say, they maxed out all of my credit cards, and took $480 out of my checking account even after I had changed the account numbers. Basically, I got into more debt while trying to get out of debt.
I really wish I had never called this company. PLEASE do your research and do not let a desperate situation cause you to make hasty and rash decisions.
Good thing I gave him the wrong account number because it all smelled fishy. He did collect all my credit cards info AND social security number. After reading this review I immediately canceled all my cards and signed up with an identity theft services. Hopefully nothing more comes of this.
