USA Screens, Inc. Reviews
On 6/22/16, we signed a contract with Andre Chestnut of USA Screens. We gave him a down payment check for $1,100 and he cashed it. He promised the work would start on 6/30/26 but never showed up. He kept putting us off and finally did turn up to drop off materials late on Saturday evening, July 2. After asking if we would mind if they could work weekends, he said he would return the next morning, Sunday, July 3 at 7:30 a.m. When he didn't show up, we called him at 12:30 to see why he had not shown up that morning, as promised. He said he was in Fort Lauderdale at church. He returned later that evening to pick up his materials and said he didn't think he could work for us and that his lawyer would put a refund check in the mail on Tuesday, as Monday was the 4th of July.
Of course there was no check in the mail that week, or any other, during the entire month of July but instead he made intermittent phone calls saying he would put a check in the mail or would bring by cash.
We reported him to a Lee County Deputy Sheriff assigned to Fraud, on Thursday, July 28 and Mr. Chestnut was told by the Deputy, to deliver cash to us by 12:00 noon Friday, July 29 or charges would be filed on Monday, August 1. We got a phone call from Mr. Chestnut on Sunday, July 31 saying that he would have a supervisor of his drop off the money between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1. That did not occur, as scheduled, but Mr. Chestnut did come by with cash at approximately 2:15 p.m. on 8/01/16 after causing us many inconveniences, when he said he would be coming by with the money during the entire month of July, which left us waiting around for no-shows.
This man has questionnable ethics and if you give him money up front, be prepared to fight to get it back if he, 1) either doesn't show up to do the work; or, 2) starts the work and doesn't finish it. It appears he only responds when he is reported to authoriies and is threatened with arrest! We were fortunate in having policemen as neighbors who guided us on how to go about the process of retrieving our money.
