USA Property Investments Reviews
I was put in touch with Oliver Booth at USA Property Investor by another property company as I was interested in buying a property in Detroit as I had heard that there were cheap properties to be bought with quite high rentals.
I looked through the USA Property Investor brochure and put in my interest in one property in Detroit.
I eventually bought the property and had tenants move in almost straight away.
In July 2014 I received a letter from the Wayne County Treasurer with a bill for unpaid taxes and fines of just under $7,000!
It turns out that Oliver Booth at USA Property Investor hadn’t changed the address for the registered owner (which was Oliver Booth at USA property Investor) to my name and address and therefore I hadn’t received any tax bills which I could have paid on time and not had the fines to pay on top of the tax bills.
I asked Oliver Booth at USA Property Investor about this numerous times via email and didn’t receive any replies!
Finally after numerous emails asking what had happened he said that he had told the lawyer dealing with the property sale about this but it hadn’t happened.
He hasn’t apologised or offered much of an explanation for what happened and didn’t seem interested in what had happened at all.
The minimum that Oliver Booth at USA Property Investor should have done when selling a property to a client is to make sure that the client is fully aware of everything involved in the sale and the property i.e. to make sure that the client is aware of the taxes to be paid and that ALL the transfer of ownership details have been changed.
I’m also curious where the tax bills had been sent as the address was for Oliver Booth at USA Property Investor.
I’m also surprised that not once did Oliver Booth at USA Property Investor inform me of the taxes that would have to be paid for the property (which are about $3,000 per annum).
I just hope that no one else has to go through with what I went through.
