On September 2, 2020, I performed a website search for a vehicle history report for my parents 1998 Volvo. They are trying to sell the car and I thought it would be helpful to have this information. I found the website, US VEHICLE REPORTS, that claimed I could get a report for $1. I thought this was too good to be true so I read all of the details before purchase. The report they issued was a joke, every section of the report, including the title records section said "No title Data Available". I knew this was a scam right away, but I wasn't too concerned about the $1 charge. On September 4th, I logged into my Capital One credit card account and saw that there was a charge for $18.95 on Sept 3rd and another on Sept 4th.
I first tried calling the company, but the phone rang twice and no one picked up. I then proceeded to call my credit card company to shut down the card and file a fraud complaint. I thought this was strange that the charge was from a company called VINRECORDSUSA.COM. After speaking to someone in the chat section of the website, they explained that US VEHICLE REPORTS sends my info to other companies/clients, which is bogus. I kept hounding the agents in the chat room to fix this fraudulent activity, and they finally refunded only one of the $18.95 charges.
I am still trying to get them to refund the other one from Sept. 4th, but they said I "paid for a service". My report is fraud, I did not receive anything from them. I want to keep them from doing this to other people. I believe that US VEHICLE REPORTS has many websites that are all connected to scam innocent people.
