Uptown Website Works Reviews
I am very upset that we did not read or search reviews on this company before we ordered and paid over $2,000 to this company. We provided every bit of information they asked for, made sure before we paid that they knew and were capable of building a site for us. As soon as we paid, a couple days later a rep calls us and starts yelling at us about how we need to tell him what we don't like about the site.
And in the first interaction with our project manager he immediatly starts trying to upsell us, social media management packages, SEO packages, site content packages, etc. telling us we don't have any content for our website and they will have to write it if we don't. And that if we don't write it using them the content will not be good. Saying our site content was terrible and our existing site was very bad etc. etc.
Then we get transferred to another account rep and they say they will take good care of us. They make you feel really good about it. So, after a couple weeks, the site still looks the same, no updates and nobody addresses any of the functionality of our site that was discussed.
We keep mentioning it and they keep saying they will work on it and get back to us in a week. Each and every time it takes longer than a week and nothing has been changed. We even already had a site built to show them what kind of design we wanted and told them all they had to do was match it. Then again, kept sending us a link to the test site that was unchanged.
The sales rep guaranteed me that all of the design work and website build was done in Los Angeles. He was EXTREMELY persistent on this. I have absolutely zero problem with finding help from Fiverr or other venues where you can get great help from outside of the US. But I had proof that every time they would say they were going to fix our site, we would get visitors from Pakistan. I brought this up several times and told them I had no problem with it, but asked why they kept lying about it. Finally after the 3rd time, I was sending screenshots of IP addresses matching their visits they finally admitted it. I told them I didn't care, but that was very wrong.
I am now into it 2 months later with no website and over $2000 in the hole. Continuing to message them and they keep telling me they are processing it.
They have mulitple sites that are trying to sell the same services, collect the money then pass you on to a third party. They will send you a DinoCamp dashboard that you use to pay for your project. Mine was (https://www.uptownwebsiteworks.com/crm/dashboard). Then try and use text messaging and phone calls to avoid any record of interactions. I kept asking them why they did not want to use the DinoCamp dashboard and they kept saying they would and then did not use it.
They also have another project management system the put you into, but they have never once responded via that dashboard. Mine was located here (https://designincservices.teamwork.com/launchpad/login).
Do not use people like this. I was impressed by their website and customer sales team interactions. Until they became pushy. Then went into unresponsive mode. I can reach them via chat, but they only say they are still working on it, then ignore me.
If a web service is not ranked on Clutch, (https://clutch.co/), avoid them for the most part. This is what we have learned the hard way.

Here are the product images for what we have inside of our product catalogs. As discussed, we would like to have the products capable of being put into packages.
As well, we are looking for the functionality of our checkout process discussed in the brief.
Also included are the videos.
Some of the images are not high-res and will have to be updated later.

Again, I don't have any issue with using outsourced work. But what is the deal? Your team members repeatedly insisted that all of your developers were local in Los Angeles.

I apologize for the confusion Mark. I checked with the Development department and turns out a couple of our developers are indian origin and they travelled to that part of the world a couple of months back and currently stuck there because of the covid19 travel restrictions and lockdowns.

RE: Hello Mark,
If we would have been outsourcing the work, I would have told you already. And I don't provide download links to my developers, I download those myself. And send the files to them.
So then why did someone in Pakistan download the files? Are you in Pakistan?

What is that? Does not seem like anything that we discussed has been implemented. There is no checkout cart. All of the products are set as blog posts. The site looks exactly the same. At this time we would like to have our refund acknowledged. Maybe we will continue this in the future but at this time we are not happy with any of the work, design, communication, expectations, timeframe. Please let me know what we need to do to get a refund at this time. Thank You
