For six years, I have been repeatedly criminally harassed by UNF and it's agents. My attorney advised me yesterday it is time to pursue a lawsuit in Federal court for contempt of court, criminal harassment, violation of of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and emotional duress.
I was briefly an MBA student during the 2015-2016 academic year. It was a horrible experience filled with broken promises and dodging fecal matter that covers the campus and is not cleaned so students must walk long distances from parking structures down sidewalks covered with feces from large birds that leave droppings the size of small dogs and are sticky and smear making a disgusting mess all over the sidewalks and of course your shoes which are then tracked inside the buildings on the shoes of staff and students.
Approximately 70% of resources and opportunities promised to me during the courtship of the admissions process was false and not available to me as a student including the fact that an entire graduate program had only one advisor for the entire program who was (by no surprise) so overwhelmed and handicapped in her job from the burden she was almost impossible to utilize as a resource at all. So I was really on my own with no support which is the exact opposite of what was promised and what is expected from an MBA program that is advertised to and expected to lead directly to employment in a relevant and well-paying position.
UNF then charged me an erroneous debt for a course I dropped and never attended for $1600. Attesting that the debt was never valid in the first place, I happened to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy when my active duty spouse became disabled from combat related injuries, and a California State judge signed a court order and it was mailed to UNF by my attorney; stating in no uncertain terms that their claim for the $1600 had been discharged permanently and that according to bankruptcy protection was no longer a collectable debt.
Period, end of story right? Wrong. Out of my long list of creditors, the only ones arrogant and ignorant enough to give the finger to the law and say we're still going to pursue this person as owing this debt was UNF.
So for the past six years, UNF has knowingly criminally harassed me and my 100% rated permanently disabled combat veteran spouse for the debt a court order said was not valid or collectable. I have contacted them many times, providing the same court order many times and pointing out how they are violating the law. They continue, even though the credit bureaus keep removing the collection account because they actually respect the law and my rights, UNF is so determined to break the law and continue the harassment that every time I get it deleted they sell it to a new collection agency and put it back on my credit report under a different collection agency name with a false...intentionally dishonest...date that is many years more recent than what the debt actually in an intentionally illegally deceptive way of fooling the credit bureaus into thinking it is a new and valid debt so that it shows up on my credit report again.
Regardless of how many times I have contacted the President of UNF all the way down to Records in writing proving all of the above; they refuse to comply with the law and the illegal actions against me continue.
They should have immediately stopped, ceased all debt collection actions permanently, and begged sorry for what they did.
They refused. For six years. Well now I'm trying to apply for a home loan and these lies are on my credit report, I contacted them multiple times recently and they wrote me back in writing saying "regarding your indebtedness" and failed to remedy, so off to federal court we go!
Additionally, there are now open complaints against them with the BBB, the Florida State Attorney's Office, Ohio State Attorney's Office where their fly by night legal representation resides, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Credit Bureaus, and the case is currently being prepared after their most recent offenses to be filed in federal court where I fully intend to seek the maximum allowable for damages against them for damaging my credit and emotional duress.
Reviews detailing their criminal behavior and many shortcomings as a school are now all over the internet where future students can be warned to never attend.
