I needed a carotid angiogram. I wanted a Radial Carotid Angiogram- hard to find Dr.'s doing this procedure. I heard about Dr. John Ambrose through a you tube video. I called University Cardiovascular Center to confirm he does the procedure. I was assured -many times by Amanda Benitez, over a few months, that he does the wrist approach to carotid angiogram, we made an consult appointment.
I drove from Las Vegas to Fresno, Ca. the day before my consult with Dr. John Ambrose on May 30th 2019 got a hotel room and made it to the University Cardiovascular Center on time.
Dr. Ambrose was shocked and dissapointed- said he does not do radial carotid angiograms. I was stunned, frustrated. He did not have any answer as to why his office told me he does the procedure. He took me from the exam room to his office manager and told her not to charge me for visit. I was grateful for that proper action.
I asked for Amanda Benitez -but she was not in. I told the other office women to inform her of the outcome and I will call her after i get back to Las Vegas.At home later, I finally spoke with Amanda Benitez and she told me that Dr. John Ambrose scheduler, Jennifer (Mata) told her he does wrist approach carotid angiograms almost weekly.
I thought it best to speak with their manager and was connected to the University Cardiovascular Center Office Manager (Dianne) to make sure this does'nt happen to anyone else. I told her what happened and that there is a disconnect between Dr. John Ambrose office staff and the Dr. ; they dont know what he does and does'nt do.
The University Cardiovascular Center Office Manager (Dianne) assured me she would find out what went wrong and call me back. Today is July 19, 2019 my consult was May, 30 2019
