I went into University Auto shop telling the guy at the conter that I wanted my water pump replaced and the small connection to the fan replaced if necessary. They gave me a high quote of over $530.00. I was told that it would take two hours beings I made an appointment at 8:00am that day. Four hours later, I called asking what was the status of my car and the guy told me they finally recieved the thermostat. I was elated telling them it took four hours to get one $40 part?
He told me it would be an hour to install it. I never got a call. I finally called five hours later, demanding for the manager who told me it would be ready in one hour. Then the manager told me the mechanic states the lower hose to the radiator costs $350.00. I told them to stop any additional work. I called Napa who told me the hose was only $13.00. When I spoke to the manager after that, he lied telling me he told me all three hoses come up to $350.00. I challenged him when he told me all calls were recorded. I demanded to hear the recording. When I got to the shop less than 10 minutes, he was nowhere to be found.
I picked up my car, paid the high cost of $501.00, only discounted when I told him we are going to court over this. I got home, inspected the car, found out the cap the windshield was missing. I called the very next morning at 8:30am and the manager spoke to the mechanic, saying it was missing, but he forgot to note it on the report. Manager offered to refund me only $10 from Auto Zone. I demanded a refund of the dealership's cost as I was charged a dealership on the thermostat. The manager told me to file a lawsuite. This is in the makings of course.
