Universal Vacation Resorts Reviews

Has Anyone Completed a trip with them?

Anyone was able to book and complete a trip? I'm very skeptical in making a booking because they don't issue the receipt of the payment. Only charge the money for so-called Resort Registration Fees, Taxes, Upgrades, and so forth. After paying the above, I was told I won't receive the Resort confirmation until 7-10 business days or someone from the Resort would call me. This sounds very suspicious. I'm questioning whether anyone has ever booked and completed a successful trip? Please jump in and share your experiences.

Thank you!

I think the reviewers above hear what they want to hear.

I just got off the call with Universal Vacation Resorts. They mentioned I had taken a Hilton vacation in the past, nowhere did they say they were with Hilton Vacations, or that they were affiliated with them. Its just their sales pitch to mention it and perhaps they buy our contact info from them.

What I want to know is, was anyone actually able to book with them after purchasing?

I don't care about reviewers who thought they were someone else calling because they just assumed they were with Hilton. Also see people complaining they thought they were with Universal Studios. They never said that! They said they are called Universal Vacation Resorts because they are in Orlando. Nothing was said they were affiliated with Universal Studios. You hear what you want to hear.

They may be a scam, but the reviews above are no help to me. I need to know if you were able to book and complete a trip, not whether their throwing out terms lulled you into a false sense of security.

Mrs. Li

I bought a package of 3 vacations back in Dec. 2017 with one cruise, one USA (can be traded with Mexico) and one in Costa Rica. When I tried to book a cruise recently, I was told they don't have any cruise ready to book yet. I then asked 'how long I should wait. Shall I wait till the end of the package expiration date'? I then was told to keep checking with them.

Then I booked Costa Rica Resort All Inclusive package and was told the resort will e-mail me the confirmation 7-10 business days later. Universal Vacation Resorts charged me $370 for Resort Fees including shuttle pickup and Taxes but I never received an e-mail receipt from the company. I've waited for a whole week but didn't receive any confirmation of the above two sources. So, I called my credit company and disputed the charge. I succeeded.

I wonder if anyone has ever booked a resort or cruise successfully with Universal Vacation Resorts. Please jump in and share your experience because I still have $535 invested in this company since Dec. 2017. Your successful experience will help me determine if I should continue to book with them or not.

Thank you in advance!

Has anyone booked and completed a trip?

Has anyone responded to your question, 'Anyone was able to book and complete a trip?' I'm very skeptical in making a booking because they don't issue the receipt of the payment. Call came in, said they were Hilton resorts vacation packages. They had my info and since I had bought Hilton packages before I believed them. 600$ for a 5 day trip, all inclusive, Cancun Mexico. Must watch 1 hour presentation. Sounded legitimate. I didn't receive an email right away so I got nervous. Called Hilton they did not have any affiliation. Finally got an email with very little info but a receipt for my payment. Went to their website. Noticed resorts and videos said RCI which is a legit company. Called RCI also not affiliated and never heard of them. Disputing the charge and changed credit card number. I feel really stupid. Hope this saves someone else this problem.

Purchased package on Nov 22, 2017 - very nice "salesman" on phone. Good pitch. Explained package included a resort stay in select locations AND a cruise package good for up to 7 nights. After purchasing package I immediately contacted them to book a cruise for our son in May 2018 - assuming we'd have plenty of time to get thru their process.

After calling every week since November 22 (it's now mid-March), I finally got someone today that would give me info to finalize a "paid for" cruise package. The fees they quoted to finalize a cruise exceeded the cost of a cruise booked directly through the cruise line. And this was supposed to be for a cruise package that was included in the price I paid.

Given the extreme lengths they went to in order to avoid my calls and emails; I am firmly convinced they never actually book anything for anyone. They just sell the packages and never deliver. I have requested a credit from my credit card processor.

Bull $%^&&

So far they have my money too in Sept-17. I called to book a land vacation in Jan18 but was told in the sales call I could book 2 cruises over the course of 2 years. Great price, sound decent, ok lets do it. So far I have called them to adjust that land vacation to a cruise and ever since then I have been given the run around. Told the manager would listen to my sales call because I should have had to take a land vacation first and would contact me. 7 business days went by when I finally got him on the phone myself, and he said to fill out the form and the cruise was approved by the financing dept...the financing dept, why would they be involved, but whatever. Did so and was told that I would be contacted by their internal cruise dept, that didn't happen and after several calls to them someone tells us that the actual Cruise Line (Royal) would contact us to collect port fees and final booking. Checked with LinkedIn as the above complaint suggests. Called the cruise line and they said they've never heard of them but they work with lots of vendors. Their site has a logo for ASTA, a reputable travel agency certified. Called them to see if they were actually a member...NOPE. Called Universal again, told I'd be transferred to a supervisor but of course that went to VM, called back 3 times since. Straight to hold status. If they are legit they are horrible at customer service and I will continue to dig. Still hopeful it works out but my confidence is gone.

Sounded like typical time share call. I travel a ton and am on a lot of frequent guest programs, etc. I get calls from Hilton all the time. This one sounded legit - other than the price seemed too good to be true. And it was. They had me navigate to the web, and the process was exactly the same as Hilton Grand Vacations or something. I used my non-primary credit card due to my suspitions...but I still gave them the number. Duh.

Once I got off the phone, I looked them up on LinkedIn, saw who owned the website and then I realized it was fake. Called credit card company right away to cancel charges and alert to fraud. Should have gone to LinkedIn right away.

Don't fall for this. I looked up company on this site while on the phone and nothing here. So, I bought. Dang. Hope B of A refunds my money and keeps it out of their lousy hands.
