Uniters North America Reviews
Homelegance Furniture Store sells Leather Couch with additional $200 5 year warranty by Uniters Pure/ Uniters North America,LLC that Includes peeling etc. Then 2 years later the couch peels very badly and rips about 6". Uniters looks at pictures we sent and ignores the rip and says we do not cover cracking/peeling.
I purchased a protection service plan for my new couch and never received a cleaning kit or instructions for the couch. well there was accident where the cushion covers got dirty and needed to be washed. So We washed them. when we washed them the cushion covers shredded into pieces. So I called the furniture store about it and they told me to call the Protection service company, I informed them they never gave me that information. When I did get the information from the furniture store and called Uniters for the protection service plan they said they would not honor the plan because we did not call them right away and we washed the cushion covers ourselves and we were to call the furniture store.
So now I am getting the YO-Yo effect of each company saying they are not responsible for anything. and I have a new couch with ripped up cushion covers because I was not give cleaning instructions.
Scam- Do not buy the warranty
Husband and I bought a leather sectional. It has rips and tears (which are supposed to be covered) and they said all of them were "scratches." I have both and they can clearly be defined. They denied my claim and said the "rips" were "peeling of the leather." This way they didn't have to cover it. The technician darted out of my home when he was done and then put the rep on the phone. It's obvious that the technicians are working for them and are not forming an unbiased opinion. I plan on filing suit. I cannot allow a business to rip people off.
Called Unitersna last October 2015 to report damage to my recliner. I hold a five year warranty on this recliner. Technician was sent out to evaluate on October 2015. Technician took pictures and told me that he was going to order a new back and arm for the recliner due to unusual wear thus approving my claim. Never heard another word from technician so I thought the parts needed to be manufactured. Called company today January 27, 2016 Only to be told the claim was denied. Clearly this in my humble opinion a warranty scam.
My wife and I purchased a couch at Haynes in Newport News and at that time bought a extended warranty from Uniters North America, LLC.
My wife and I purchased a couch at Haynes in Newport News(08/06/11) and at that time bought a extended warranty( Good for 5 years) from Uniters North America, LLC. Uniters North America and Haynes both have said they will not fix or replace the couch which is currently pealing. Uniters claim that bonded leather is fabric and is not covered under their warranty. If that is true why were we not told that bonded leather pealing was not covered under the warranty. We were told at the time of purchased that if the couch fell apart, as the covering is currently doing, they would fix or replace the couch. We would have never have bought this couch if we knew this type of material would do this,. The model number is 8515sspp/0501-0750 (Brand: Uniters) (Uniters Protection - 501-750). The Sales person was James Higgins and our Customer # was 104JBQ55, Store 104(Haynes) I can only assume that Uniters are the makers of this Couch and now refuse to HONOR the Warranty which was sold to protect their product.
Our records show that Mr. Santiago filed a claim November 30th, 2015 for peeling on all seats and the left and right facing back casing of the sofa. Based on the information we received from the retailer Haynes Furniture the sofa is made of bonded. Bonded is not leather but rather a composition product that includes leather. As per the terms and conditions of the protection plan Mr. Santiago purchased, cracking and peeling on bonded leather is covered on non seating areas only. Seating areas are defined as all areas where body touches the furniture such as the seat casings, back casings and the arms. Since Mr. Santiago filed the claim for cracking and peeling on bonded in the seating areas, the claim is not serviceable under the terms and conditions of the protection plan. Please be advised that Uniters North America is not the manufacturer for the sofa. Based on the information from Haynes Furniture, the sofa was manufactured by Emerald Home Furnishing. We are attaching a copy of the terms and condition of the protection plan for your review and as such we regret to inform you that we will be unable to take any further actions on the claim.
