My father has been with united health care for 6 years and the past two years the home health agencies that are their providers do not provide what my father is eligible for. I spend hours on the phone contacting different agencies and some of them are not even in business still.

Medicare pays a amount per month around 900.00 to one thousand per member for United to manage their health care. Thats alot of cash cow money comming in monthly for alot of members. wow. also the turn around time for claims is more than 90days and sometimes the claims have to be resubmitted several times before they are paid for. also, United health care representatives will not disclose the contractual amount and then when the bill arrives then my parents are not prepared nor budgeted for the billed amount which is the 20 percent due. So when asking United health care reps what is the twenty percent due they state they do not know.

so this leads to a suprise billing which is now going to be in collection if not paid immediately. Fail to disclose the twenty percent is bad business practice and hurts the consumer the elderly that does not have the time nor the energy to combat this system. Failure to disclose the twenty percent also, limits the ability for a counsumer to shop around for a better out patient center that is more affordable. So of their providers demand an upfront payment of the durable medical equipment and state that they will get the money from the insurance and then give a refund to the patient.

also, if a co pay is not made then the patient cannot be seen by a physician. also, the co pay is maybe 50.00 yet, the insurance pays the remainder of 100.00

so physicians are getting paid between 100.00 to 150.00 per hour. The medical medical run by a for profit business is running it like a car insurance.

what is going on. For profit???? wow. The govenrment does not want to manage health care to they leave it up to the for profit business and thats what it is for profit and really the consumer that is entitled to this after so many years.

I ha t have emergency dental surgery due to Radiation problems due to cancer. All my lower jaw was affected and I had to get my jaw repaired and implants in order for me to be able to eat again. I paid $20,000 to have my jaw repaired and put in a claim with Unitedhealthcare. I have been sending this claim for 6 months now, and they always tell us when we call that they have no information or letters from us. I faxed the claim paperwork 6 times to the Fax number they kept telling me to send it to. I have send the claim paperwork 6 times by mail, and each time I call them they have no paperwork from me. I spent over 2 hours on HOLD everytime I call and all I get from them is to resent the paperwork again.

It is all a big game they are playing with me. I have read other people complaint aboutt he exact same thing I am reporting. they too been sending claims to the address on the back of their card and never gotten anywhere.

if they claim they never receive my paperwork, what do I suppose to do. I am out $20,000.00 which I sure can use right now. I had no choice but to get my surgery in order to be able to eat again, and they just don't really care.
