The same fraud as reported elsewhere. This is one of many such companies that prey on those you don't understand that under our legal system and it's (lack of) oversight, they are allowed to exist and trive. We've dealt with real or fictitious people named Jeremy, Naomi and others.
Total scam artists and liars. Both All United Vanlines and MMG Movers work hand in hand in their scams and are likely just one of many other companies who are in reality the same entities. The head of MMG Movers (among others) is named Matthew K Pardi who was indicted in February 2022 for the exact fraud I have undergone.
I plan to contact the FBI tomorrow and join in the effort to send Mr. Pardi for a long vacation with few amenities. Hopefully all these crooks can get to know each other better in close proximity, including the reputed owner of All United Vanlines (among others), Mr. Suraj Karuppan Viswanthan. The fact that our governments allow this type of predation to go on and on is troubling.
Understand; we first hired All United Vanlines, but once the ransom began we ended up dealing with MMG Movers, making the obvious point that they were all in cahoots in the fraud. They defended each other and promised that if we paid them the inflated ransom they would tell us where we could go get our goods.
However once the got the ransom they have ignored us and cannot be reached. This is their pattern and plan and it is working for them well--at least until Mr. Pardi gets new digs.
Unigroup operates unprofessionally and unethically. They are more in the business of coverying their butts verses being respectful of customers and carring for the well-being of their move. Their first mode of business is to dodge very ounce of accountablity for mistakes they make. The next mode of business to pass the buck to the drivers, their affiliates and consumers.
We have never in our life ever, ever, ever dealth with such a horrible company. How they treat customers who have issues with their services is terrible. They have a "oh well" attitude and will do everything possible not to pay on a claim. They even pay their own people to act as claims adjusters and give them bonuses to come in at reduced costs to the consumer.
For the most part they act as their own insurance so they go out of their way to ensure they don't have to pay you. And, they will not be straight with you about their policies and proceedures if it means it will give them an advantage. They are total snakes. Their advertising misrepresents how they truly operate. And, warning to every consumer that will ever look to hire them - buy the highest insurance and list all your possessions as high value.
Do not let them talk out out of it. And, do not let them bring in one box or item into your house without checking it off the list because they will seek to hide damaged items, will not tell you if something is damaged or missing and they will work to get you to sign paperwork that gets them off the hook 100%. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING AT THE DESTINATION. NADDA. ZERO. ZIP.
Until you go through everything. And, they will try and push you because the driver and staff want to drop your stuff and get out of there as quickly as possible. You also cannot trust anyone from corporate Unigroup, Mayflower or United Van Lines. Do not count on them to care. Do not count on them to appologise. Do not count on them to tell you the truth. They will manuever to get you behind on the law, drag things out and work the system that they themselves have built.
They have worked with every non-profit organization or government agency in order to be able to manipulate relationships so that when consumers complain everyone looks the other way.
On August 3, 3018, United moved my household items from Henderson, NV to St. Clair, MI. They arrived on August 18, 2018. As the workers were unloading my items, I immediately noticed my furniture was sloppy wrapped in moving pads with huge rubber bands. Furniture after furniture carried in was badly scratched, bashed in, ripped and finally missing. I was hystical at the end of the move as the driver, Dave Carr tried to explain to me he had lost some items and assured me they were in a warehouse in Chicago.
I later found out without my permission or notificaton United had unwrapped all my furniture and threw it as trash/garbage in Chicago at a warehouse. I was livid as Dave explained to me he would personally call the claims adjuster to be at my home on Monday, August 20, 2018 to access the damage. He also assured me he would deliver my missing items (table top, bike, Hawaiian prints and a huge etched beveled mirror) on Monday, August 20, 2018 when the adjuster was expected to be at my home.
All this was lies as he never deliver my lost items and no adjuster ever showed up. I refused to sign the bill of lading stating my household items was "all" delivered.
It has been over three (3) months of given the run around with United. I have called and written numerous of times asking "how or why my stuff was taken off the truck." To this day, I have never received an answer regarding my complaint for an investigation to review the trucks manifest or see the report from the inspector who came to our home to access the damage and repair what he could.
I received the settlement letter and check. United refuse to pay me for a badly damage antique Chinese chest (valued at $1500). They claim this piece was damaged prior to the move. I videoed my household items before it was loaded onto the truck and it clearly shows a lock was in place to keep the doors from opening. The door hinges are now bent, doors don't line up and the chest is badly scratched up from the move. United did acklowedge they busted off the lock and paid me for the lock only.
I believe with the amount of damage to all my other furniture, why would they think this piece was handled any differently then the rest of my stuff?? They also delivered the wheel for my bike and lost my bike. The claim for my bike was listed at $400 and they gave me $200. They charged me to pack a huge beautiful custom made mirror. The claim submitted was for $1,000 and they paid me $500. Today, that same bike is now $565 and the mirror over $2,000.
I believe United has an obligation to me for the lost and damaged items. They were careless and blatly negligent with the handling of my move. The move cost me over $9K and I expected quality service, experience and expert movers and was horrified at the disprect of my stuff. The customer service and communication has been poor and my complaints continue to go unanswered. I believe my items were stolen and this is a scam to keep my stuff and pay me less than half for the items.
United also lost my table top but delivered the legs of the table and the 4 chairs. Unfortunately, I can't match the table lost and they did pay me the $400 as claimed. However, I will have to purchase an entire matching set at almost $1,000.
I used this company to relocate from CA to MA. The management of the move was horrible. To cut down on costs, we only had one mover handling the move, even lifting all the heavy furniture, etc. Needless to say, we suffered an enormous amount of damage. We took out full value replacement protection for our belongings. When I filed the claim, I was passed from different claim adjustors, none of whom ever calls you back. They denied claims to for items that were in the move, stating that it was not part of the inventory, even after I showed them pictures of the items being moved and delivered. They offered me a low-ball compensation offer, which I am fighting and now they are pushing me towards arbitration.
I wish with all my sould that this company is exposed for what they are, a bunch of crooks and eventually go out of business.
