I recently signed up for credit card processing with umpa-palmyra pa as a convenience for my patients in my medical practice only to be scammed from the get-go. Umpa began withdrawing money from my checking acount even before the terminal was out of the box and set up. When confronted, they removed some of the charges.
After a number of fraudulent withdrawals on their part, i called the company and asked what my options were. I was told that i could return the processing terminal or just continue using their service. If i returned the machine, there would be a $1095.00 cancellation and restocking fee. I elected to keep the machine and monitor their transactions closely.
Despite my continued use of the machine after they set it up and activated it,umpa attempted to process the $1095.00 fee with repeated attempts to illegally withdraw these funds from my checking account. I spoke with my banker at bank of america who was most cooperative and put a stop order on all attempts of umpa to withdraw any further money from my account withiout my approval.
Umpa then proceeded to sue me and reported this illegal transaction to the big three credit reporting companies seriously marring my credit report and standing. Umpa added lawyers fees, addional processing fees, and returned check fees for the stop orders eventually totalling over $1800.00.
Umpa has repeatedly failed to take or return any calls from me since the inception of their law suit against me. I have retained legal councel and plan to countersue this most disreputable company. My attorney has reviewed the contract i had with umpa which he says is ambiguous and illegal/unenforceable.
I have lost time and legal fees. I have a damaged credit report. I have been scammed and duped by this dishonest and disreputable company. I made a mistake by not researching this company on the internet prior to signing up with them.
The umpa salesman lied and fraudulently represented umpa. My suggestions if you have or are considering getting umpa services? Dumpa umpa.
