I am a homeowner and resident of Trieste at Boca Raton, FL.
This is to address the incident that took place today at the Trieste security guard booth at approximately 10:50 AM today, October 5, 2016.
Security would not allow a painting contractor from Hartzell Painting to enter the community and visit my property because they claimed that they called me and I was not answering. I had to walk to the guard house gate and get him in which was a major inconvenience since I run a business and have no time for such nonsense.
The phone numbers that security had on file for me were totally different from those which I provided both Trieste and all of the property management companies (including Lang Property Management) and I have never changed any of my phone numbers since moving to Trieste on 4/12/2013.
Of course when I arrived at the gate I was not in a "happy camper" mood and my voice is naturally loud, especially when I am very upset (in this case, righteously so).
But at no time did I act confrontational or invade anyone personal space as the security employee named "Luis or Louis" did mine.
Both Luis (description - bald and fat middle aged male) and another male individual at the security booth spoke to me in a very confrontational and belligerent manner, with Luis "demanding" that I "lower my voice". He then stepped into my personal space and from there, I was concerned that things could have possibly escalated. I am so glad that they did not. He acted in both a physically and verbally intimidating manner and made the comment that "only BAD things could happen to me I were were to lay a hand on any of the security employees". The remark was both unprompted and unprofessional, and completely uncalled for. Luis's behavior was insolent and quarrelsome. Rude and unprofessional. He was in essence, "posturing" or "puffing up his feathers" and telling me that he was an ex-cop and an ex-Marine (ooh we're scared), both of which mean absolutely nothing to me since I have been there and done that myself many years ago (I am now 58 years old). Theresa of Lang Property Management interjected and told him not to go there. He then sheepishly apologized but I feel that he did so only because she intervened.
If it ever happens again, I will take the appropriate legal action including filing a police report against Luis with the Boca Raton Police Department for verbal assault and threats, as well as any civil remedies that might be afforded to me after consulting with my civil attorney.
