Very simply, I ordered a package from overseas. It comes to the US and it says it needs an $800 refundable insurance fee on it. So, after some haggaling back and forth I agree to pay and the customer service representative tells me to check in 5 minutes and it should be cleared and my payment refunded. Next, I look and I see it has a $700 "insurance fee" on it that I have to pay. I tell the rep that this is insane and I've never heard of such a thing. Even if I paid the additional $700 (which I can't afford), what's to say they won't come back 5 minutes later and tell me I owe them $600?
They also threatened that they would report me to the police for not paying the fees. This is completely outrageous and I've never heard anything like this.
This company has offices all around the world, but I believe they are based in South Africa. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE! They are nothing but scam and extortionists.
I worked for Brenton Wombles about 4 Years ago, the company name was United Express LLC.. Mr Wombles & his part owner this Company William hired me to be a Moving Manager for this company... I took the job thinking it would come with great opportunities, but i was very wrong.. I filled out a application with ALL my information.. I worked for these guys for about a month.. First pay day came around after putting in 40+ hours, Mr Wombles refused to pay me because of his company account "issuses"... I thought that these guys were ok, turns out when i asked for the money, Mr Wombles payed me a very small amount of $ 100.00 and then promised me the rest within 24 hours... Next Day, no money... I even used my own money for transportation for this company to use... Still nothing... The company was located in a office in the Forest Hills building... I continued to work for them out of trust, but no money.. So a WEEK before i quit, Brenton was kicked out of the building we were working in because Mr Wombles refused to pay his bills... I left with no money....So, the reason im saying this is because i hope this happens to no one else, and the fact that Mr Wombles has my information," SS"... I really hope the law can take care of this criminal....
