I visited Unique&Elegant Hair salon and it was a headache from the start. I trusted Kewonia Grimes to be a professional because of the credentials she said she had. I ordered a lace frontal and bundles from her in the event of getting ready for a military ball. The hair that I ordered from her did not come on time and the company took over 10 days to return my money back to me even after the package was refused and they assured me the refund had been processed. The situation was very stressful. Kewonia told me that she would provide a frontal and 2 bundles and she texted me and told me the price of the hair would be 200$. I didn't want the hair because it was not to my taste but considering I was out of options I agreed to take that chance. When I got to the salon Ms Grimes was working on another client and greeted me and showed me the hair. She then told me that the hair was 240$ instead of 200$ and considering I was told I would get my refund as soon as I refused the package that actually wouldv'e had the hair that I liked. I let her know that I would return the very next day and give her the 240$ Three different people worked on my hair. The lady that washed and conditioned my hair also braided it, then there was another person that actually sewed the net on my hair. I could hear her using scissors but I had no idea she had cut some of my natural hair in the process. Kewonia did a nice job on my hair but I still had to curl it again myself prior to getting dressed about an hour prior to the ball. The hair was of bad quality and did not retain curls well at all. The way the frontal was installed looked pleasing until I was removing it and discovered where my hair had been cut and tucked under. I let her know what was going on and she ignored me initially. She denied it happening at first and then offered a resolution that I was not going to accept. Since then, Kewonia offered to give me my money back and that hasn't happened at all. She has lied over and over and has been very rude. This woman puts up a good front with her cosmetic personality just to get positive reviews online. If you are looking for a stlyist, this is one that you should think twice about trusting. She also used my pictures to advertise and did not have rights to the photo or permission. When I asked her to remove them, she was rude and basically lied and told me she couldn't. Eventually the pictures were removed but she never corrected the mistake. I'm almost certain that the person that sewed my net did not have the appropriate credentials to work in that salon. This is a place to avoid. I paid her 200$ for the service and an additional 240$ for some hair. She was also tipped 20$. I will provide some screen shot images of the conversation as well. Stay away from this salon unless your'e okay with a liar providing service.
