I bought tickets to the UK Investor Show, held at the QE2 Centre, and was told to buy shares in Stanley Gibbons by the shows owner Tom Winnifrith. I was told Stanley Gibbons was a rock solid investment, and a long term hold, which would grow my money gradually, and over time. Soon after making an investment, Stanley Gibbons started to go down, i continued to hold, after 2 years i had lost more than 95% of my original investment.
In 2017 i went back to the UK Investor Show (next year to be sponsored by Dr Johnny Hons "The Global Group") to confront Tom Winnifrith on why Stanley Gibbons had gone down so much, and why i had lost most of the money i had invested. I was told to "F**k off, you peasant c**ksucker". I was very shocked, this was very aggressive behaviour. I left the show and later complained to the other management via email, but received no response, or apology. Neither was my ticket refunded as an apology.
I did some further research and had found that Tom Winnifrith in fact lost millions in investor funds whilst CEO at Rivington Street Holdings.
It seems Winnifriths modus operandi is to talk up companies that pay him regardless of whether or not they are worth investing in. All of this is hidden under the wrapper or guise of fighting against fraud.
Interestingly i did overhear a conversation amongst the management after an anti-fracking group did a protest at the show, and were escorted out of the building, where one of them said, "its simple, no lefties, no ni*gers, no p*kis, no riff-raff, next year we'll turn them away at the door".
This is further confirmed by owner Tom Winnifrith actually using such racist and derogatory language on his personal blog. In particular the N-word and the P-word. And was suspended from the Liberal Democrats in 1993 for producing racist leaflets.
Its clear to me that the UK investor show is no place for someone from an ethnic minority, and the managment doesn't care about racism, and the use of racist terminology at the show.
