It started with me innocently looking at a directory outside the Adore Store in West County Mall in St Louis, MO on November 3, 2016. I was approached by a man who offered me a sliver of a sample of soap which I attempted to deny but Elly was persistent and next thing I knew I was persuaded to sit down in a chair and Elly sat in a chair across from me facing me with my knees in between his, almost feeling trapped. He went on to tell me that I have beautiful skin and he could help me to do something about the dark circles under my eyes saying that what I had been told from the time I was a child by my parents (it was from lack of sleep) was not truee. That the blood flow under my eyes was not getting the moisture that it needed and therefore there was darkness under my eyes. He asked me if he could show me how to help those dark circles go away without me having to have a facelift. I reluctantly allowed him to apply a product and my face and it began to feel warm. I told him so and he and a coworker became excited that my face had started to feel warm and he told me that was a good sign-that my skin was receptive to this treatment. He then moved on to my face telling me that the treatment he wanted to apply to my face could be considered the equivalent of a face lift and he wanted to try it to see how my face reacted. He tried it on the back of my hand to show how the wrinkles became less noticeable and they did. He then applied the treatment to one side of my face, let it stay on for a few minutes, wiped it off and had me look in a mirror to see how any wrinkles had almost disappeared and then moved on to the other side. I was impressed by this. After doing more treatments on my face of other things it had been about two hours now. Then he wanted me to purchase some of the items and was giving me things free to sweeten the deal. When I was told how much the products were I told him I am in no financial position to purchase anything there at all. He kept adding more and more free products, whispering about the deal he was giving me and that he was only wanting me to purchase because my skin was a one in a million type and should not be ignored. After gathering seven products, only two of which had a price tag (an eye serum $400 and a cleansing creme $100) and the other 5 had no charge, at least on the receipt I was given I finally realized I would not get out from between his legs without purchasing the products thinking at these prices naturally I would be able to return them for a refund. He took my credit card and my drivers license up to the register, leaving me sitting in the chair. I was grateful I would finally be able to leave there. He came back with my credit card, license and receipt-nothing at all was mentioned regarding a return policy at all. He then wanted to move onto something else he thought would be good for my face as well. This item's cost was $1,000. I then said absolutely not I was done. He was sitting next to me and only then, after I had purchased $500 worth of product and had receipt in hand, did he tell me in passing that the return policy was no refunds - just store credit would be given as a refund. My head was swimming. What would I possibly purchase in this store to replace what I had just paid for as a return. What had I just done? I was just speachless took my bag of $500 goodies and left the store in total shock. I don't remember driving home but felt my face burning as I was in transit. As I was feeling my face and touching it to figure out why it was burning stuff was peeling off in my hands. I couldn't wait and when I got home I ran right to the bathroom, put soap and water in my hands (which I never ever use) and scrubbed my face with the soap and water to make it stop burning. The following morning Friday, November 4, 2016 at 8 AM, realizing the terrible mistake I had made, I right away looked up the website of the store and called that phone number to let them know I had made a terrible mistake, that the products had burned my face in a reaction to them and what should I do since the receipt said "All products may be returned within 7 days for FULL return. No refunds will be apply on sales and promotions! Products must not be open or used and must be in its original package. Exchange within 7 days." Nicole at UHI Cosmetics informed me to not return the products to the store until she could talk to the store manager to discuss it with him and help the situation before I brought the products in and not aggravate myself. She ended the call by giving me a case # 1285 and telling me she would be calling me back soon. Not hearing from Nicole at all, on November 9, 2016 at 11:15 AM I called UHI Cosmetics once again. Nicole was not there but Vi told me that since Nicole had given me a case number and told me to wait to hear from her that the 7 day return period did not matter and not to worry if it was not returned within that 7 day period - it did not pertain to my case and that Nicole would be calling me back with more information. On November 22, 2016 at 9:45 AM I called once again since I had heard nothing at all from Nicole or Vi since calling them November 9, 2016. I spoke with Nicole again and voiced my concerns again about the 7 day return period and how it had passed by now. She told me that she was calling the manager of the store (Ben she called him)right after she got off the phone with me. I asked if I could call him instead to expedite things and she replied no she had another customer complaint to discuss with him in addition to mine and I could expect a call later that day from her to inform me that I should return the products to the store for refund. No call was ever received that day from Nicole, Ben, Vi or anyone else from UHI Cosmetics or any other day since. All calls made were made by me and no return calls ever came from Nicole like I was informed would occur. I don't know how these people live with themselves doing these things. I always have confidence that people will do what they say they will but I have now paid $548.05 that I didn't have, I am on a fixed income and just happened the evening of November 3, 2016 to have my credit card with me which I usually don't carry with me for safety reasons. That evening I was in the mall to purchase a birthday gift for a close friend. I just today received a response from my credit card company that since the products were not returned within 7 days there is nothing that they can do and I am responsible for that $548.05 that I spent on that day. All thanks to Nicole and Vi at UHI Cosmetics. I just hope that the saying holds true "What goes around comes around" and I hope that the people involved get their comeuppance. I would absolutely love to see it when it happens. I am not at all a mean spirited person but I will not carry credit cards with whenever possible so that the is no possibility to get caught in something as sinister as this was. Do not ever step over the threshold of an Adore Store or any other company associated with UHI Cosmetics. Run like the wind away quickly.
