These people called on my cell phone (which is listed on the DO NOT CALL list), represented themselves as soliciting funds for providing police safety items such as vests, body cameras, etc.
We are always supportive of police & law enforcement, so I agreed to a $50 donation. Of course they wanted my credit card #, but I don't give that out, so I asked that they send a donation request by mail.
When I received the request in the mail, it was obvious that they had lied & been completely misleading about the true purpose of their organization. Rather it is political & more of the nature of lobbying & supporting candidates of their choice.
I received a phone call on 5/21 alleging that the individual represented the above organization. When I said I can't contribute at this time, he countered with a very convincing plea for just $15.00, I caved, but wouldn't give credit card information, so yesterday's mail brought my official envelope with letter complete with red, white and blue logo. When I looked at the envelope, I realized how non-specific the organization sounded and decided to google it before responding.

Not at all what they told me on the phone.
