I "purchased" an OLED TV from tvsdailydeals.com as a black friday special online. The price was great, but that was expected as 1) its a black friday sale, and 2) I was purchasing an older model, so the price reduction wasn't out of the norm. It said it would arrive in 7-10 business days. I immediately got a confirmation email, but by Monday had no tracking information, so I called. They said I would need to sign a waiver because the manufacturer would no longer warranty the TV, but said that they have a store warranty of 90 days. I asked if they would email me the waiver and they said yes, and to call back the next day to schedule a deliver. I never go the waiver but called the next day regardless to schedule the delivery. The person who picked up said I needed to be transferred to the shipping department. After waiting on hold for over a half hour, I finally hung up and called back. They answered and immediately put me on hold again. The next day, a fraudulent charge had been made on my credit card for a macbook pro from the apple online store. I'm sure this is related to giving my CC info to tvsdailydeals.com because I have not made any other out of the ordinary charges to that card. I called tvsdailydeals.com again and asked them again about shipping, just to see what he would say. He said the TV was actually on back order and it would be 2 weeks and I should just wait for an email from them. I told him to cancel the order. Not that it matters, my Credit card was already compromised and they had no intention of actually sending my order anyways. Complete and total scam.
I ordered an lg oled65b7p television from tvsdailydeals.com. The order receipt said it would be delivered within 7-10 business days, and there were no issues placing my order.
I was browsing deals on other websites when i realized that tvsdailydeals.com wasn't listed on any google or amazon comparison shopping lists. I looked for a review of tvsdailydeals.com and found a report on involving the exact model that i had ordered. I called tvsdailydeals.com customer service to see when my television had shipped, and i was told that it never had.
The representative from tvsdailydeals.com claimed that there should have been a pop-up when i placed my order that said the panel on the model they were selling was only an 8-bit panel instead of a 10-bit panel, and that they couldn't ship it until i signed that waiver. He also claimed that this was to make the tvs cheaper for companies buying in bulk who didn't care about quality. Oled screens are some of the most expensive units available right now, so that wouldn't make any sense. I ended my call in order to look into some of the claims i had been told.
I called customer service at lg to ask if they manufacture 8 bit oled panels and the representative told me that all lg manufactured oled panels are 10-bit, and that only refurbished televisions could be 8-bit if the original panel was replaced by the servicer.
I received an email saying that my order with tvsdailydeals.com had been canceled by the time i had gotten off of the phone with lg. Huge waste of time and i missed out on buying a real tv from another retailer while it was on sale.
