I, like millions of other people contracted with turbo tax to complete my federal/state tax forn and to send them off electronically. My federal was accepted my state was not. My state never accepted my tax forms from turbo tax. I had to correct the forms and send them to my state tax agency.

My federal tax was sent off in March but my refund was not recevied until Aug. The reason was that the tax info was wrong. The IRS corrected the error and changed my refund by more than $600. I tried to contact Turbo Tax for a refund and never heard a word back from Turbo Tax!

It is very disconcerting how I trusted Intuit’s TurboTax to do taxes for my family and Turbotax resulted in allocation of much more wages than my wife and I had at the NJ state level when she was working in New York while residing in NJ. The allocation of wages had to be done manually for each state and could easily be overlooked and incorrect. We were surprised TurboTax never fixed this bug. It even has been written about extensively online. When I contacted executive leadership, they had me speak with what they called a TurboTax expert at Intuit who didn’t deny what I encountered. These errors were costly to my family and Intuit has made it crystal clear it is my problem and not theirs, their final position is they will do nothing regarding all the money they caused me to lose because of their buggy software.

Besides losing a lot of money due to Turbotax’s buggy software, earlier this year I had a Turbotax software issue. I needed a license code for my current version which I had never needed in the 20 years I have used the software prior to this and when I googled for Turbotax help, I found a phone number which turned out to be spammers from India who claimed I had a virus. We could hear others in the background with the same issue. We were advised to buy a fire wall for 159.00. We were suspicious and installed our own firewall which found nothing. We ended up writing Turbotax about this and ended up on a call where we included a security team member from Intuit/TurboTax where on the call. The security team member seemed shocked about what we found and told us we should alert the FTC which we did. I hope for the sake of TurboTax users what we found has been resolved.

I paid extra for their advertised "live" help. When I needed it I had to wait an hr & a half for somone to call me back. He wasn't able to help. The second and third time I tried getting "live" help I had to wait over three hours both times for someone to call me back and BOTH times the phone was disconnected before they answered my questions and no one called me back.

I'm on day 3 of this and after more hours of trying to figure it out on my own, I thought I was done and filed. After I get an email saying the state & federal denied my forms and I even owe money to both!? How could they deny my forms when I answered all of the questions TurboTax asked me correctly!? I am going to demand all of the $175 TurboTax charged me back if I can ever figure out how to get ahold of them! I will NEVER use they're service again! Don't waste your time & money!!!

EVERY YEAR I BOUGHT TURBO TAX SOFWARE FROM OFFICE DEPOT OR STAPLES. RECENTLY, THE TUBO TAXES ARE NOT WORKING, I CALLED AND TALKED WITH MR. CLEVELAND. HE HELPED ME TO ACTIVATE IT.

TODAY, AGAIN, THE TURBO TAXES ARE NOT WORKING AND MR. DAVID TOLD ME AT 11:11AM THE PROBLEM IS WITH MICROSOFT.

I CONTACTED MICROSOFT AND THEY ASSURED ME THE SYSTEM WORKED WELL.

AT 12:04PM, I CONTACTED TURBO TAX AGAIN AND TALKED WITH ADELIA AND PRINCETTA AT 1-800-797-4625 AND WAS ON THE PHONE FOR ONE HOUR 49 MINUTES AND 44 SECONDS.

This smells as a totalitarianism, and I am not kidding !

I have purchased a desktop version of the software that promised to serve my needs as a family with professional income. The software would not deliver up to my expectations. The fields would not reply to double click, would not allow me to enter forms needed to input the motor vehicle expense for professional income. Initialization of a standard software platform offered me to update the soft from 35% to 110$ (x3) version immediately upon the installation for no reason in particular (even though the same standard package worked for me just fine for several years prior the year 2016).

My background education in IT suggests that by such action secures a personal information collection, without consent ! in the background !! during the installation of the software (1).

When I made an attempt to report an issue to developer, I was forced to open an account with TurboTax and provide an information under coercion; without a choice, I could voice my concern only after I register. I had no need to register an online account with them whatsoever, unless... actually, it is more like an extortion...

I feel victimized by the overreaching violator of my freedoms who is breaking into my private data, disrespects my privacy, and forcing me to spend money unnecessarily just because they found a way to position themselves under the wing of CRA and attempt to humiliate me based on keywords of the unsanctioned BG search enquiry of my personal information that is a subject to copyright (2)

I ended up filing my tax return via hard copy printed forms, that was an inconvenience, BUT !! Providing a convenience does not assign a mandate to violate your rights !! Be aware, people. It’s not a joke, unless you are willing to sell your rights short to overreaching provider of convenience and surrender your rights under coercion.

I am very disappointed that citizens who do not get an education in schools adequate to learn to recognize the prejudice of the educational system that is dispensing knowledge selectively with an intent to subjugate.

I am very upset! Did not ever expect it to come from the wing of a governing institution. To me it means that imperfections in populous are implemented with purpose of reaching out an intellectual triumph in form of an uncalculated gain.

Ones again, I feel violated finacially, intellectually, and criminally.

Read my lips: TurboTax is NOT FREE.

I am only 28 years old and I don't remember the last time I didn't end up using a 1040.

I have no financial investments, no business, no stocks, no bonds, no other reason to pay taxes other than a W2. I also took 1 course in college last year.

Yet I had to pay TurboTax $54.99 to file my own taxes!

Yeah. FREE.

TurboTax will lure you into thinking they are part of this program. But they're not.

The system will allow you to enter in all of your information, spend hours doing so, then it will say 'oops, looks like you need to pay to get through this door!'

Classis strongarm hustling technique, absolutely disgusting. God knows what Intuit does with this information.

Intuit has a long history of ripping off customers. They will sell you a Quickbooks license, then invalidate it automatically. They will make you pay for updates, and if you don't pay, your software stops working. If they charge you extra, they claim to return the money, but they never do.

Intuit safely hides because their name, because they bought Quickbooks back in the 2000s, and it is now their claim to fame. Don't be fooled, these guys don't give a F***. They will rip you off in a heartbeat.

Every year I use turbo tax for my tax returns, and I usually never had a problem. Until I called customer service asking about my ach debit regarding the fee turbo taxed charged me for "auditing protection". My question was regarding an email I received stating that my payment was to draft my account via ach debit on or after April 7 2017. The email stated that if I have any questions regarding my ach payment to call customer service. I also could then make other arrangements for paying if needed. I called on April 4, to inquire about my payment. The representative I spoke with was able to tell me there was a payment already pending and she couldn't see a payment for April 7. I asked her if there was any way I could stop the pending payment and make an arrangement to pay one week later on April 14. Her response was "I have no clue". She made no attempt to help me, she said that there was no way she could either stop the payment or make other arrangements because she didn't work in "that" department. Her incompetence and lack of regard for me as a client have inspired this rip off report. As far as my business is concerned, I will never deal with this shady, incompetent, unprofessional, lazy, worthless scum of a company again.
