I just wanted to report the following contractor for scamming me out of over $20,000. The contractor is "True Elegance Fine Carpentry & Flooring" based in the Houston, Texas area. He may also go by the name of ”J&R Flooring”. Mr. Joel Serna (real name is Jose Joel Serna Martinez) misrepresented his capabilities as a GC and then walked off the job with a $20,000 2nd draw and no work performed on the 2nd phase. He now refuses to return my funds. Also, the first phase was substandard as he put the plumbing in the wrong place and the form work for the foundation was wrong. Through all this he also failed multiple permit inspections and caused many delays in construction. The man is not truthful, is lazy, and becomes rude once he is hired. Please do not let this rip off artist take advantage of anyone else.
Jose Joel Serna is more of a scam professional than a carpenter. He took $4500 from me and NEVER made my kitchen cabinets. He provided nothing but lies, excuses, and false promises until he eventually blocked my calls. The address on his invoices are fake and best believe he will make you believe he’s working on your project and then he vanishes and becomes rude until he just blocks you completely. DO NOT CONTRACT THIS CROOK!!!!!!
Giving this guy 1 star is more than he deserves! Joel Serna, Owner, took my money and the work he did do/have done was sub par! The job that should have cost me 12k ended up costing me a lot more. Every thing he did had to be fixed or totally redone. He also caused a lead in the wall of my daughter's shower that ended up causing mold and having to replace brand new wood flooring. I have 4 months of text messages of his lies, broken promises, and proof he stole my money and didn't do the job. I paid for windows, supplies, and trim that I never received. STAY AWAY from his fraud and thief!
