True Auto sent my 82 year old, invalid mother (who hasn't owned a car in twenty years) stating that her car warranty has expired and if she would just call with all of her personal information they would protect her from further repair costs. The letter makes it seem imperative that she do this immediately or she will have huge repair costs if no action is taken. It was lucky she hasn't had a car in so long because if she did I am sure she would have called with all the information because she thought it was official and legitimate.
They called my father-in-law, warned him that his "warranty" on his car was expired and he was is great danger of being without insurance to cover any breakdown! After scaring him they wanted him to pay $300 to start and "insurance".
Because Washington State knows they are scammers, they made him give an out-or-state address of a relative to send the information. Our relatives contacted us about this scam. When my wife tried to cancel this BS insurance, the representative berated her about not caring for her father, "who is going to pay for the repairs?", etc. She had to hang up...
If there was a star lower than what you offer, I would check it off. I received a letter today, 5/26/17, with IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED. I called, and must say, I have NEVER been treated so badly. After an unpleasant, insulting conversation I asked him his name. He asked "does it matter now?" I am hoping people read this, especially the elderly, so they will stop being victims to companies like this.
