After filling out all their necessary paperwork, i waited months for a response. I had to phone in close to 10 times and had to wait for a call back in order for their office to take my call. I presume this tactic is used to not deal with irrate customers and also helps deter/cool off customers who are upset from Tripmates lack of integrity.

They finally asked for more supporting documentation to help support my claim and I sent them a photograph of my sisters salon and spa, which was about 2 feet under water and that was my destination. I was going there to train, but mother nature had other plans. As we all know, 2017 was the worst year in history for the USA regarding three category 4 hurricanes hitting the U.S.

I told the Tripmate representative, "why would I pay $50 to cancel my flight just to be rejected by you guys after spending hours of my life submitting the claim" They clearly don't care.

I've worked at a telemarketing company at a young age and I know the tactics these so called, "customer service" agents pull to try and appease a disgruntled customer. Well, I'm not stopping. I want justice and whats right is right.

I am seeking to file a class action law suit primarily for claims filed during 2017 hurricane season against Tripmate Inc. Any attorney and othe disgruntled Tripmate customer we need to make them accountable.

Wish I could give less than 1! The whole premise of TripMates Insurance is that you are a liar, you are trying to extort money from them, and that you will finally give up on their "process" and just say forget it!

Trip to Europe with my family (10 people). Flight delayed due to weather, had to stay overnight in Atlanta since we missed our connection to London. Lost our prepaid hotel, transfers, and train from London to Paris. Had to pay for a hotel in Atlanta and extra night in Paris. Upon returning home, started the claim "process". They want you to prove EVERYTHING beyond a reasonable doubt! You can't just send your receipts and original itinerary. They want to know the date you purchased their insurance policy! Really?!! You also have to send your credit card statement showing you were actually charged for your expenses, in addition to all your receipts. And you need a letter from the airline showing how, when, and why you missed your connecting flights and how, when, and where you were rerouted including flight numbers and seat assignments. They say it takes 30 days after they receive ALL your documents, even if you already sent them and they send you a letter stating you have to resend them, which then restarts the 30 day clock. So far it has been 92 days since I started this process and still no check. This "process" has cost me 74 hours of my life I will never get back, including phone calls, collecting documents, completing their ridiculous forms, emails, re-sending documents I already sent. DO NOT use this company!!!

TripMate is a SCAM! They take your money and do not pay claims or respond to inquireies. They are always extremely busy, no time to do anything other than scam their next victim. I am going to sue the travel companies that offer TripMate as an option. We have a growing number of victims and a willing class action lawsuit attorney.

Please contact me if YOU WANT YOUR MONEY BACK plus punitive damages.

I purchased trip insurance for a Viking River Cruise. My partner passed away unexpectedly before we could travel. The cost of his ticket was $3,898 and because I am still taking the trip alone, I was charged an additional fee for single supplement. I file my 2 claims in February 2018. All I am getting is the run around when I call to check status and my claim process log is only updated after one of my many calls. It appears to be a scam and the only thing professional is the stall tactics used. After 2 months they listed an explanation of benefits (not sent to me as yet) for $584.70 for the cost of my partners ticket and nothing for the single supplement charges.

In addition, they supposedly made payment out to my deceased partner who did not pay for the insurance – I did. I have never seen the check or any payment at all. When I called to register yet another complaint, I was told they would put a stop payment on it and re-issue to me. The check was still at their premises, had not been mailed, yet it would take 2-3 weeks to re-issue to the correct payee. Then when I asked for an explanation and details as to how they arrived at the amount of $584, no one could furnish details.

All I was told it must be the maximum allowed by the plan I purchased. I read every line of their 14 page plan and nowhere does it refer to a maximum allowed amount to be less than the trip cost. I was then told if I want to dispute the amount, I would have to wait until I received a check and submit dispute paperwork. This process would take an additional minimum of 30 days for them to re-review and re-process. I am filing a complaint with every state they are licensed because as I research more, I am finding hundreds of similar complaints. I think their license should be revoked.

I purchased 3 flight insurances for 3 separate trips. Du to my health issues and my doctors restriction I had to cancel them. I haven’t get no help or customer support about it. They were quick to get paid but answering my calls (which is day later.. all day waiting?) I was treated with disrespect and condescending attitude. Furthermore, no help or knowledgable assistance.

I feel TripMate is a scam! I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone!

I filed a claim on 9/6/2017. I have called this company 5+ times and contacted the agency I bought the insurance from. The turn around time was supposed to be 1 month for all travel claims. It has been 3 months. I am still waiting for it just to be processed...... They have the works customer service ever. I have resorted to calling every week and now every day but still nothing.

Trip Mate denied our claim because it doesn't consider cancer a sickness. My boyfriend and I spent $1600 on "Cancel for Any Reason" travel insurance from Trip Mate for a trip to Morocco with OAT in Feb. 2017. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with head and neck cancer in Nov. 2016. He filed a claim during the appropriate period required by Trip Mate and submitted all the lengthy documentation, including a signed report from his oncologist that he had throat cancer and would require two months of chemo and daily radiation during the trip period.

After six months and many phone calls, we received a letter dated May 18, 2017 that his claim was denied because there was "no documentation of evidence of a Sickness." Yep, we should have realized that cancer isn't a "Sickness." The treatment he received caused him to have his face and neck erupt in a very painful rash, become extremely sensitive to sunlight (he couldn't even sit by a window without getting burned) and often requires a feeding tube to be surgically inserted directly into the stomach.

Two months after the treatment he still can't eat solid food and has lost an extreme amount of weight and is easily fatigued.

We are telling everyone we know via the Internet and social media never to use this company and be suspicious of any travel company that recommends Trip Mate Insurance. We have had enough stress and pain without having to deal with Trip Mate.

I guess the CEO of Trip Mate has never had a loved one endure cancer because he would not treat a cancer patient this way if he had. This company is a scam. I wish I could include a photo of him in the mask that covered his entire head and part of his chest that was bolted onto the radiation table for two months of daily treatment since Trip Mate determined he wasn't really ill and could have gone on the trip.

I purchased World Nomads travel insurance at the end of April 2017. The claims administrator is TripMate.

Horribly, I had to file a claim for lost/stolen luggage on May 8th and sent in all of my paperwork and direct deposit information to TripMate on May 11th. Since then, I have not gotten any responses to emails for updates other than generic replies, and when I called the customer service number the representative just repeated what I can already see online for my claim. The online claim view is useless, and reads as follows:

My 79 year old grandmother went on a trip with her friend to D.R. for 12 days, which was supposed to be a dream trip for the both of them. About 3 or 4 days into their trip my grandmothers friend passed away from a massive heart attack. As anyone can imagine the whole ordeal was a nightmare from that moment on, for her and us trying to get her back on U.S. soil. We had the hardest time getting her back tpo the U.S., but once she was back we breathed a sigh of relief thinking that all the troubles of getting her back to the U.S. would be the hardest part of this ordeal. Enter tripmate whose slogan should be, "just when you thought it couldn't get any worst, we step in & make it a total nightmare".

For starters, this all happend 12/2/16 & it's not 5/1/17 & they still haven't paid us in full. Yup, that's right, give them your money & you can kiss it goodbye. You literally have to die to get your money back from them in a timely manor & it won't even be the full amount. We should know, since the family of my grandmother's deceased friend only got back the money for the days she was dead on the trip (and by that I mean only the hotel portion, because by their standards she technically did fly back even though she wasn't breathing for her return flight)!!!!

We filed the claim about a week after my grandmother was back, they didn't even review our claim until almost 3 months later, after a barage of calls from me acting as her proxy. When I asked why they didn't even touch the claim or look it at, they had no answer. Apparently just an "oopps" will do for their customers when you don't review claims for 3 months. You would think after that they would rush to pay the claim, wrong again! It took calls twice a week, and over a month to get any payment at all. Also, you should be aware that everytime you call, no matter what time of day it is, prepare to wait for at least 10-15 minutes to speak to a human.

Trust me when I tell you ,the wait time is not even worth talking to customer service, because their definition of customer service is they literally know nothing. I mean absolutley nothing, don't even try, anything they can tell you can find online and more. They read a script and do not divert from it at all, so don't except a thinking, compassionate, action taker. What you should expect is a robot reading off a script. At this point you might be thinking, well I would just ask for a supervisor.....yeah I tried that too. They aren't allowed to transfer you to a supervisor or let you speak them, yup that's right. No, instead of just giving you a supervisor to speak to and make it easier, you must leave your number and pray they call you back. I suggest you pray hard, as it took me at least two calls to get a supervisor to call me back.

So fast forward to 4 months later, we finally get a check, whooooohooooo! or so we thought.......it was not the full amount of the refund. After 4 months of telling these crooks that they had the orginal date of death wrong on the deceased claim (who also had to deal with the same nonsense) to check the death certificate to make sure they get it right on ours. What do they do, they screw ours up. So our claim has 3 days of hotel stay missing from it. They still owe us 3 days. After sending in a reciept for the travel date back, which the customer service agent said would be enough. They deny us, surprise surprise. Their reasoning? They assume we are claiming the flight, after specifically talking to customer service and explaining they did not reimburse the correct amount of days, having her note it in our file, sending in the reciept, calling in and checking on it & again explaining why we sent it, they still deny us.

These people literally have no shame, they are such greedy bloodsucking crooks that they would stoop so low to take from our senior citizens and the deceased. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT, DEAL WITH THESE INCOMPETENT CROOKS!!!

I reserved a flight mid June, 2015, from Denver to AZ for July 7, 2015 for orientation to a new legal publishing job. I have a Master's in Law. I had just moved from Orlando, Fl to Woodland Park Colorado the first week in June, 2015 and starting having breathing problems. Living below sea level to 9,000 ft up really took a toll on me. I called to add flight insurance June 25th which they encouraged me to do via Frontier airlines and tripmate. The new position with Attorney at Law Magazine had started asking unreasonable request also during that time, and they started backing out when it came to paying for my room and my travel to the orientation.

Since I wasn't well, and the Dr. was not yet clear about the new diagnosis (which is totally new and not pre-existing) I sent in the trip itinerary and the Physicians paperwork, which I had prefilled out. In the previous treatment section, I selected the wrong box. I had NOT been treated for this new condition. The Physician did NOT sign the form, I attached his disability paperwork and application to the State of Colorado for a medical mj card. I had not EVER been treated for elevated creatinine kinase, which signifies damage to my muscles and organs. My Dr. then, had prescribed me a new medication to help ease pain. I followed up recently with my primary Dr. who is now doing other tests for this new condition. I am still having issues breathing, it is taking some time to acclimate to the high elevation.

I cancelled my trip weeks in advance, am now not well, and NOW unemployed. Trip Mate seems to be Doctors now and refuses to reimburse my $211, Fact is , they have spent more money having their Rep Linda Finkle cheat me out of my money, than to have paid the money back or offer me another ticket. This is unethical and illegal to sell one insurance, instruct them as to what to do to cancel , cancel the ticket, and then rip them off.

I will never use them again, and suggest any out there who is interested not to. They don't care about their customers at all, their health, well being, just about keeping their money at all cost !

If anyone is interested in filing a class action lawsuit in this matter, please send me an email.
