Tribeca Pediatric Dentistry Reviews
My wife took our 2 kids to this dental office and asked whether this whether they took our insurance. Nicole said they didn't but they would do it 'in-network'.
Now after some very over priced treatment, a couple of fillings and a couple of rubber bands in mouth, the bill was over $2,000!!
Our insurance would have covered it but evidently, because it was not done in-network, as the doctor had promised, my wife had to cover the majority out of pocket.
When my wife requested the breakdown of the bill, the dental office refused and said we cannot disclose what the bill is for. Wait a minute, so you charge people $2,000 for a short visit and limited work, but you won't say what it's for? Imagine this in other industries, this wouldn't fly.
Subsequently my wife has received several phone calls from the manager of the office. I spoke to her today and told her that we have felt cheated by Dr. Nicole Lambert. Even though I proposed a settlment amount that I thought was fair she immediately said: "If you don't pay this by November 1st (within 8 days) I will send you to collections".
That is after I told her that I would post online and put a complaint with the ADA.
The reason I post this online is that unfortunately in America today, doctors and dentists feel like they can charge whatever they want, and get it paid on time, they pull the 'collections' card.
Well today we are pulling the Rip-Off Card.
I am not complaining about the treatment itself. I am complaining about how the sales process is very smooth 'don't worry we will make it work for you' but when it comes to the bill, it's 'I have no control over what the insurance would reimburse and that's what you owe me'.
But if you hadn't told us you would treat us as in-network we wouldn't have come!!
Tell people the truth upfront! Don't bring people in and charge them $2,000 and tell them if they don't pay within 8 days you will send them to collections without hearing the full story and without hearing an offer of compromise.
