Travelodge by Wyndham Rapid City Reviews
A little over a week ago I was in Rapid City, South Dakota for a business trip. My employer said that they would cover my hotel accommodations. When I stepped into the lobby to check in there was a long line and it took nearly 45 minutes to check in. When my wife and I got to our room we could see that the sidewalk outside was cleaner than the carpet on the floor inside the room.
The room was tiny and the beds were like rocks. Then we discovered the worst part. My wife has neuropathy and needs to take a bath to ease her pain. When she turned on the water it was only a trickle and no pressure at all. My wife was very angry and in pain and started crying. I went to the front desk where I stood with two other customers that were complaining of the very same thing and one said their air conditioner was not working. The staff acted like they didn't care. I called my employer and they told me to check out and they booked my wife and I somewhere else.
I feel fortunate because I didn't have to pay for this and my employer got a refund. But I wrote a one star review on Google and read other reviews and saw a lot of the same things (dirty room, air conditioner not working, no running water, and rude staff). And what is worse is that these reviews were about two months old.
This tells me that they are aware of the problems and do nothing about them and yet still put guests in these rooms in these horrible conditions. But this one star review from someone named Chara Blaszkowski stood out to me the most and promped me to come here to Rip Off Report to write this:
"Worst hotel ever.
Checked in very late and was the only hotel with any rooms for that weekend. We walked in door and went to bed, Woke up to no water and a dirty room that was in need of many repairs. Call the office about no water. Was told that a toilet was plugged further down the row . I was talking to the manager, or so she said. Tabatha was her name. She told me "It is not my problem!". So I'm showered we were forced to start our day. I called around and no rooms anywhere. We had to stay is that room another night.
I cleaned blood off the wall and took pictures. In the morning we had water. Upon turning the shower on, the shower head blew apart and hit me in the face. I went to the office to ask what they would do to make it right. Tamara started screaming and me to leave and a tall guy also stepped in to yell at me. I told them they need to address the problems. They called the cops on me. Not sure what they told them I had done. I asked their names they quickly covered they name tags and yelled from backroom to leave. I reversed charges on my card and reported them to Wyndham hotels, not sure how this dump got accepted by them. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST."
I honestly think that city officials need to step in, condemn this place, and close it down. No running water is a health ordinance issue. On weekends they charge over $200.00 for one night and it's honestly not even worth $5.00 for a week. Hopefully changes get made soon.
