There are really two scammers here. First is Hilton Head Timeshares. We went down to Hilton Head to a timeshare presentation... two hours. First, their address wasn't even on the building so it was not easy to find. Second, the presentation was far longer than two hours due to additional being led around from office to office.

The lure here was a 5-day cruise that you got for attending the timeshare.

The 'free' 5-day cruise started by our sending in a $7.50 'processing' fee. Then we got some information back that demanded a $75 booking fee. Then, you have to send a fee of $339 per person that was never really explained... so we are now at $760.50 and we don't even have a date.

Now to the date; can't be within 7 days of any federal holiday and Easter. You must choose your date 90 days in advance, and if there is not room for you, you must change the date. The cabin is an 'entry-level' inside cabin, which is the absolutely noisyest and smallest cabins on the ship, usually near the engine room. You can upgrade for a fee that is paid to these scammers, not the cruise line. Since you are on a 'free' cruise, you are not eligible for any of the freebies given by the cruise ship company like free unlimited beverages or admittance to some areas on the ship. Also, your 'free' trip may mean that you have to pay additional port fees and fuel charges! Oh, and this company reserves the right to book you on a different destination cruise entirely if they can't get the one you want without spending any of their money.

By the time you are done, I believe that it would be cheaper to book it yourself and pay the price through the cruise ship website and choose your own dates, and get some of the free upgrades that they offer!
