TransUnion LLC Reviews

  • Mar 15, 2021

I received a credit report today on 03/15/2021 report dated 03/05/2021. I have been at war with Trans Union for over 15 years asking or demanding them to come to arbitration or court. The credit score I received today was 582. I have paid all car payments, Rental, and Credit cards the credit report shows I paid all but I still received a 582. I saw the creit report had bogus addresses and places where I lived over 15 years ago. I have filed a complaint with the FTC about 1-2 months ago. I did not ask for a credit report dated 03/05/2021.

The credit score should be around or above 700. I have 10 plus years of receipts/money orders to back up my claims. I believe it is time for Trans Union to no longer handle my information or credit reports they really should be indemnified and held legally liable for fraud and theft. I must also not my public records most have been Notarized and Apostille certifying my documents

TransUnion refused to remove a bankrupcty by claiming that they contacted the creditor. I contacted the creditor and the creditor mailed me a letter stating that they do not contact the credit agencies. So they refuse to remove the account from my credit report.

I have a paypal credit card and decided to increase the credit line since my income went up. I received a letter from the following address

Paypal Credit

c/o Synchrony Bank

P.O. Box 965004

Orlando, Florida 32896-5004

My credit score was 636 on april 16,2020. I could not believe this because the past fall 2019 my credit score was above 700 and paid all bills rent, car, credit cards. The credit reporting agency is Transunion. I have gone round and round with these people and have filed State and Federal complaints and with the Washington State Attorney Generals Office. Most of my records have been Notarized and Apostille. I have also filed arbitration claims against TransUnion as well. I would like to have the above listed people who keep public records financial reports to a legal court room where I can show all receipts showing payments including certified mail and file a formal complaint against TransUnion, and others who cannot and will not protect Consumer rights such as the FCRA and FDCPA.

Even with proof, this company refused to remove negative reports.

It is small print at the bottom of an email that you get that you are now enrolled in a monthly service. Call 800-493-2392. They will say they can only credit you back for 2 months, hopefully you caught it in time. If not ask for a supervisor and let them know you will be submitting complaints every place you can. They immediately said they could credit the other 2 months that I was billed.

Your account logs this as an "Order" but no where does it say you have an active monthly subscription. They do a good job of hiding it from you. If you search for this issue on the internet you will find hundreds of complaints.

You also don't need to pay to freeze and unfreeze your account, that is a completely different service I have been informed. They imply through the on line process that you need to pay...just walking you down the path to getting you signed up for the unexpected $19.95 per month subscription.

Bad on YOU Transunion for misleading and scamming your customers.

6/23/19 --TransUnion's evaluation methods have no basis in reality. They changed my score from Excellent to Fair based on one accidentally missed bill of $10 in a period of at least 25 years. It was only by chance that I learned of the rating change and the overlooked invoice four months later, by which time it was called four missed payments. (The bill was from Target who notified TransUnion instead of me, so I cancelled my account and will never shop with them again.)

TransUnion's explanation was that their algorhithms determine the score. This blind mechanical approach means their credibility is worthless. Should I have any problems due to this nonsense, I shall be able to easily produce my exemplary payment record. However for a highly ethical person to be insulted like this is not right.

TransUnion gets kickbacks from "loan aggregators" who list lenders and try to get website viewers to accept loans. The simple box "VIEW OFFERS" in TransUnion's "Loan tip" email led to a nightmare website (guidetolenders.com) listing lenders, interest rates, etc. Within 3 seconds of viewing the site, my cell phone began to ring.

The first caller, Lending Point, used a falsified caller ID and insisted that my husband's loan was in process and could only be stopped if she spoke to him. He is disabled and was asleep, besides which I did not click on ANYTHING on the guidetolenders.com website. I did not give ANYONE permission to access my husband's credit or start a loan application.

I called the company's actual phone number (there was no loan) and had the dishonest and fraudulent call escalated to their QA Dept. I just hung up on the other callers. In less than four minutes after clicking on TransUnion's SEE OFFERS link, we had seven emails from these companies, stating that the loan is "being processed." WHAT LOAN???

I had simply been redirected to a loan aggregators website from a TransUnion email that had "tips" for my husband. I have POA and handle our finances. If I had known that the website belonged to a "loan aggregator" or that the loan companies would begin harassing us, I would not have clicked on TransUnion's link. Take-away: DO NOT OPEN EMAILS FROM TRANSUNION, AND CERTAINLY DO NOT CLICK ON LINKS WITHOUT RIGHT-CLICKING AND READING THEM TO CHECK THEM FIRST.

TransUnion betrayed our trust by colluding with this loan aggregator and its clients in return for kickbacks for successful loans. They even admit that in the fine print. TU has ALL of our information, and they are not careful with whom they share it. Shame on TransUnion for selling us out, for defaming themselves by contracting with companies that employ criminal tactics, and for using our lawfully provided information to get a few bucks in kickbacks, meanwhile leaving us swinging in the wind being harassed by their 3rd party partners.

My situation is; I’m trying to find a job. Every so often I get emails from employment web sites. Today, I got an email saying, “we got a job match for you.” So, I opened the email from “EveryJobforMe.com.” I went to the website. They showed me a preview of the jobs available in my area that match up to my field. They have companies and positions posted that I haven’t seen yet. It looks interesting and could be helpful. But of course, you need to create an account first. I click the “create an account” link. Then, I get a pop up that says, “DID YOU KNOW MOST COMPANIES CHECK YOUR CREDIT REPORT BEFORE HIRING YOU?” “GET YOUR FREE CREDIT SCORE HERE.

They said my reputation and values are reported by credit agencies. It said “Click here” to see what they say about you. So, I clicked. TransUnion website pops up.

One of the three big credit reporting agencies. TransUnion says they need my credit card number to verify I’m really me. They will only charge a dollar. They need to verify your identity with your credit card. I gave them my credit card because I thought they needed to verify my identity with my credit card. This was a onetime charge. I saw nothing about a monthly subscription. I’m looking for a job. I need to make money not spend money. I followed the directions to get my credit score, so I can get a job.

A screen popped up and gave me my score, that’s it, nothing else. Then it disappeared, and another screen popped up, saying I got a dollar worth of viewing. The show is over. I got a dollar worth. I have the option to pay more to continue viewing or I can purchase more reports to see who is reporting me. I closed out. I went back to my email to try to find the website that claimed to “have a job match” for me. However, I clicked on the email receipt from TransUnion. I scrolled and scrolled (about 4 pages) to the bottom. At the very bottom, there was a disclosure saying:

You have purchased a subscription product. For your convenience, your payment card will automatically be charged $19.95 (plus tax where applicable) per month, while your subscription continues. Information about our cancellation policy and how to cancel your subscription can be accessed here.

Did I just get scammed? Yup, I just got scammed. Because, I know I didn’t purchase a “subscription product” from TransUnion. I did not agree to be automatically charged $19.95 per month. TransUnion credit reporting agency just ripped me off. I’m mad but more embarrassed for being so easy to scam. My face got a little bit red, and my ears felt hot. But my anger is at myself for being stupid. TransUnion does not make it easy to cancel. Everything is cryptic. I waited on hold for about 5 minutes for someone to answer. I wanted to get snippy with the customer service rep who was helping me, but she just has a job, and that’s all I want. A job.

The number are not large 50 or 98 small fees for transfer fees or bank fees alway an excuse then one more fee to a point that you think maybe there will send the loan but no just another fee.

I was using a job search website that required I provide a credit score. TransUnion had their ad right there offering a FREE Credit Score. So I request my credit score. TransUnion promptly sent me my score, but without my realizing it, they also opened an account for me, using my credit card number, which I never gave them. I think I only had to give them the last 4 digits of my SS number. Of course they have access to all of our credit information, since they are a credit reporting agency.

I found out when I was having trouble with credit card billing website and I requested a change to paper credit card billing statements. TransUnion was deducting $19.95 per month for 7 months from my credit card. So I shut down that card with my bank, then called TransUnion. TransUnion agreed to close out the fraudulent 'account', but they refused to return the stolen money. Although they did not deny that it was stolen. Ironically, the service they were fraudulently charging me for was Fraud Protection. My credit score has always been pretty nice. I can't wait to see what it will look like from now on. A credit reporting agency can do a lot of damage.

Transunion llc ruined my credit for nothing!

Back in the year of 2016, i suffered from some very serious illegal credit card fraud that was done over the internet with my american express credit card without my signature for over $30,000.00 on men's skin care products that were never, ever sent to me, nor received without a signature and on top of that, i was out of the country when this happened.

To make the long story short, when i returned back to los angeles, i did file a police report and went through legal aid to assist me with this vicious fraud case and they did!

Sadly, american express refused to remove the illegal fraud from their credit files and they illegally reported the fraud for imaginary merchandise that was never, ever sent to me on to my credit report.

Another thing which you will find alarming: american express never lost any money because when i filed a fraud claim with american express back in the year of 2016, they immediately did not pay this fake merchant a penny and american express is still illegally trying to hold me responsible for this money which again is 100% fraud!

I have tried aggressively, legitimately and honestly to get the negative credit reporting removed from my transunion llc credit report and up to this date, i have had no luck!

I just recently filed a small claims lawsuit against them for the fraud and illegal/false credit reporting on my credit report and i am subpoening the police officer who took the report to court along with somebody from legal aid as well to testify for me on my behalf as a witness!

In addition: enclosed, in the attachments, please also find a copy of the police report along with (10) pages of legal documentation proving my innocence that was sent out to all three (3) credit reporting agencies from legal aid for your review and further reference.

I am now hoping for a prayer of relief from the three (3) credit bureauS) where they finally decide to remove the negative credit reporting from my credit report and declare me 100% innocent!

Took the $1 subscription, forgot to cancel. My bad. But they banged me for 8 months, without ever emailing me an invoice or really anything. And their on-line credit report stars out the last four numbers of the account, so I can't even give a full account number to the reporter to dispute it with them. In 8 months, I recieved one email from them about an inquiry I made regarding a loan-one email in all of 8 months. These auto subsciptions should be compelled to send an invoice every month, not just leave t to chance that I see it on my on line banking. Now it will take me weeks to remove a false report from my credit report, because, you'd think as asubsciber I would be able to easily do that when logged in--no dice, was unable to do that, had to do that through normal dispute channels. so much for the benfit of a subscription--$160 down the toilet.

On July 28, 2016 I was attempting to obtain my free credit reports. As I was reviewing my bank statements to prepare my taxes I noticed a reoccuring fee of $19.95/month coming out of my bank account since August 2016. I called the number and uncovered Transunion's scam. Customer Service reps told me I was charged $1 for the "free" credit report and had been automaticlly signed up for an account I neither needed nor wanted (a "free" 30 day trial of some service I don't understand). I didn't cancel the account within the 30 day period, so the monthly charge automaticly went into effect. The CS Rep offered to cancel the service & refund one month's charge. I asked for the supervisor and was promised 5 months refund ($99.75). That is still two months short of a full refund. I will dispute the balance of the charges ($40.90) through my bank.

Web page says get your free credit score a 7 day trial offer.than they ask for a credit card number and say you will not be charged,at that point l stopped my application.only to find out they have been charging my bank account every month 19.99$.I called my bank they called trans Union and we had a 3way conference call only to find out I did'not properly cancel my proscription,$ 200.00 later

I am writing this to say that I disagree with billing customers without proper disclaimer of a subscription. Not only is it immoral, it is deceptive to people who want a simple credit check and hiding the cancel subscription button to have the person call a phone number is evil. I have never seen any company I have subscribed to ever hide their cancel button and redirect me to other inconvenient methods of cancellation.

I received a letter from "Allstate" where I recently began a new homeowners insurance policy. The letter explained that there were address inconsistencies and I needed to contact "TransUnion" to verify my address. I called the number, which provided an automated system, and before I knew it, I had entered in my zipcode, SSN, and birthdate. Once the system said "We are unable to process your request at this time" I knew I had been had. (feeling stupid)

When I goggled the phone number, I saw someone else had received the same letter.

Not sure what to expect, but I will be on the lookout for identity theft.

Transunion said my account was temporarily suspened. What account? Who now has my personal info? Wheres my promised credit report? None of these questions can be answered for me and I now have given my information to a company that controls my credit worthiness and did nothing to validate or acknowledge my dispute on my credit report which was my initial reason for contacting them in the beginning. My credit score was lowered for requesting a report i never recieved to start with and my personal information is now floating around the internet unprotected by transunion. Be aware that by law you are entitled to one free credit report per year from all credit reporting agencies. After ypur first report you will then be charged for any further reports you request during one calender year. Also be aware that anytime you apply for credit or request a credit report from any of the 3 reporting agencies your credit score is lowered several points for each inquiory. Just another detail companies and credit reporting agencies fail to inform you of as theyre charging you a fee to basically lower ypur credit score then deny you credit. Im sire ill be reporting to this site again when some information stealing hacker geys their hands on the information i just gave transunion in an effort to fix a credit problem ultimately causing myself many more. Thanks Transunion!

I am in the process of refinancing my home into a conventional instead of paying so high of MIP with a FHA loan. i have been approved but was told if I could raise my scores slightly i could get even a better interest rate. hearing this i started investigating things and fixed my reports with Experian and Equifax pretty quickly and easily. The mistakes were minor, so i went on to transunion and read about all the reasons i should get a credit monitoring service to protect my credit and name from identy theft. i tried to log into and sign up with transunion credit monitoring service provided to the general public for a price of $19.95 per month.

i was unsuccessful while attemting so i called transunion and they told me their system has a lock on my name for life. i will not ever be getting off this list no matter what that it was company policy. i ask why they said they did not know that their system just states that.

i was confused about this as it has been 8 years since i bought my home. i thought about it all day and came home to do research. i found that in 2007 others had the same issue, and that back then if you checked your credit to many times that you would have been locked out. I admit that i was with true credit back then and i checked it almost 2 to 3 times a week learning and researching.

well i stopped true credit and i have not logged into transnion since 2007. this isnt right, i should not be on this famous locked list and be provided what is offered to the general public. i feel this is slandering my name and it bothers me. i know this case might be weird. I am attacking all ways i can to get this corrected. during my research i found that i should create a complaint with the CFPB (consumer protection financial protection) which i did now i am contacting channel 13 to see if they will help. one other time i had a problem and Marvin Zindler fixed it with just a email, so i am tring it again. please help fix this for me and others that this has happend to.

I paid $2 for TransUnion to a credit report for me for a new vehicle and they deducted $1.00 from my Credit Card and they didn't give me my credit report I got a statement that said " I'm sorry but your request could not be done at this time" what is that I don't understand. I paid for my services and my services hasn't been rendered if I'm not mistaken I think its against the law what they did to me and probably others too I would like to see someone who is in charge actually go to jail for this Because how many other people have been done this way besides me. Now if my calculations are correct there is an estimated at least 1000 people a day they get this credit score done at $1 a person do the math thousand dollars a day is making he can afford a bail bondsman then .

Let's start with the Transunion credit score report that is offered free with my credit card. I am supposed to get free monitoring and I've actually been believing the information that I get when I login to my credit card account. Then someone suggested I use credit karma to check my credit scores, because it's free. I did sign up for credit karma, but it showed my credit score almost 100 points lower than what was reported through my "free" credit score monitoring with my credit card company. I thought that it couldn't be right, even though all the information was supposedly coming from Transunion as well. How could two companies(my credit card company and credit karma) both using the same TransUnion information give two different scores?

So I went directly to Transunion to get my score, thinking that if I get it directly from them, it has to be the correct information. I go to the transunion website and they are offering to view your credit score for $1.00. I pay the dollar, but it's only the transunion score. So I pay another $29.99 to get all 3 credit bureau scores and my credit report. The information on transunion confirmed what I found out for free on credit karma. (kudos to credit karma). Yes, I blew $30 bucks, but I wanted to know the truth. So I complained to my credit card company about my score being wrong.

A week later, I get a another charge to my credit card for $18 for upgrading my "membership" to Transunion. I saw no where about the $1 being a membership or that the $1 was part of some free trial. I did have a one track mind when I paid the $1, but it seems that those details should have been a bit more obvious or I wouldn't have signed up for it.

I only wanted my credit score. Why would I pay the extra $29.99 if I could get the exact same information by paying the $18? Something is really wrong it is not clear that paying $30 bucks is a waste of time.

I call Transunion to tell them that I didn't authorize that $18 charge for the membership, after A LOT of arguing with the representative, he cancels the account and hopefully is issuing the refund. Well, The $30 credit scores/report is supposed to be available for 30 days, but now I can't access that either. I call Transunion back and they say, oh because you cancelled the "membership" you can't access the score/report you paid $30 for. WHAT???

How are these 2 things linked and how come I didn't know that when I signed up? Where does it say if you cancel one, that you can't get the other? Mind you, I had no idea I was signing up for any membership in the first place. Won't refund me the $30 because I was able to see my 3 scores, but I also thought I had 30 days to view my scores and report.

So if you cancel a 7-day free trial AND you paid for a 30 day view of a score/report, one cancels the other???!!!???

This information is NO WHERE to be found on their website. They are full of crap and I am also reporting this to www.consumerfinance.gov

I should not lose my money or my service due to another un-related service. It should be clear that those two things are linked and also - why didn't the representative tell me that I would lose access to my score/report? A bunch of liars. Don't trust them with your money.

Go to for free scores and for your free credit reports.

$49 loss and education on never trusting or using any services provided by TransUnion Tricksters...

LIke others havev reported, the same thing happened to me. I recently signed up for an online credit soluitons program. During my studying and reading of this program I was directed to sign up for a free credit report when I clicked on the link it took me to transunion.com. It (Transunion) stated that it was going to need my CC information to charge me $1 for my free credit report, which I got an email confirmation for. 8 days later I was charged $17.95 for my "Transunion Membership" How ever, I did not even find out until 12 days later, as I was going through my online checking account.

I called transunion right away and let them know of this charge that I never authorized and that I wanted to be reimbursed. I was then told that when I "signed up" that it stated that it was only a 7 days trial and that I had 7 days to cancel my mebership. I let him know that, I would have cancelled my membership during the 7 days (if it had stated that) or I would have never even bothered to sign up! I told him that I never recieved confirmation of the agreement of $17.95 or a receiept, but I did for the $1. NO WHERE ON THE WEBSITE DOES IT STATE THT THEY WILL CHARGE YOU $17.95. I read it very thouroughly. I am glad that I noticed right away, instead of 6 months down the road.

My thoughts are this...if a crerdit reporting agency is going to scam you of your own hard working money, you can only guess that they will do the same to your report. Be very cautious of these companies when you are looking for your credit score or report. These credit reporting companies are a scam and it's too bad that we have to base our entire life's well being around them! It's crock of crap and I wish something could be done to bring these SOB's down!
