BEWARE of these SCAM ARTISTS!!! My wife and I bought a 2016 Toyota Yaris from Toyota of Richardson’s used car lot. Several weeks later, the left side of the bumper kept popping out. I took it to the Toyota dealership in Denton, and they said they would have to replace the bumper.
When they removed the bumper, they discovered the underlying frame was smashed in from a previous car accident. When my wife contacted Toyota of Richardson their response was, “are you sure the other dealership isn’t trying to just sell you a new car?”
They told my wife to bring the car up to their dealership the next day. Instead of simply fixing the damage to the rear end of the car, they decided to add insult to injury by offering to buy the car back from us for $2000 less than what we payed for it less than a month ago, and sell us another car they had on their lot, that was essentially the exact same car but with more miles, for almost a thousand dollars more than we payed for the original one. Obviously not wanting to get screwed again, I told them that wouldn’t work, but they told me that was all they were willing to do.
I found reviews from some of their other customers that have also been sold cars with previous accident damage that wasn’t disclosed. Even one of my wife’s co-workers said he had purchased a used car from this dealership, only to find out later that the car had been in an accident and one of the doors had to be replaced.
Most of the used cars they sell are bought from rental companies or purchased from an auction. None of this is ever disclosed to consumers neither. Needless to say, this place is nothing but a chop shop car lot on par with something you’d find on Harry Hines, or in Oak Cliff. Oddly enough they claim on their website, "We're also dedicated to providing the highest quality inventory possible, which is why our staff of factory-trained and certified Toyota technicians pre-inspect every single car that comes through the dealership to ensure the worth, safety and quality of your investment." Tha's a complete lie.
I purchased a 2014 Toyota Camry last September. It had some type of black substance on the roof of the car. I was promised it would be painted and made like new.
I came back several days later to pick-up the car. The roof top looked like lemon skin. It had bumps and bruises all over it. One of the sales guy's explained that Toyota Richardson paints and lets the paint dry outside of all body shop work. This process is not done in a controlled environment. They tried to fix it four times. With each attempt, it kept looking worse. I had a sale's guy dangle car keys in my face and tell me, "This is your car, ma'ma take it!" The whole time he yelled at me he dangled car keys in my face. I explained over and over that I was promised a car that would looked new. I was not promised a car with a roof top that looks like lemon skin.
I selected another 2014 Camry. I can get my own financing, but they promised a low rate. I informed them several times that I do not want Wells Fargo as a finance company. They intentionally sold my car loan to Wells Fargo knowing that I do not like Wells Fargo. From the start, I told them I wanted a different finance company, and I named it. What the customer wants does not matter to Toyota Richardson.
I have left several messages for the General Manager of this location. He has never bothered to return my call.
I have reported them to Toyota who referred me back to Toyota Richardson.

I bought a car from the dealership and was told that my car deal was done. I called the finance company and they told me that I was not approved for the car loan. when I was told that I was not approved we placed a stop payment on the check unitl we had the finance problem solved. I called for 2 weeks straight terying to figure out what was going on.The dealership called me because the wanted the down payment because the finance company paid them for the car. I told them I have to get it verified. The general manager told be bring me my down payment or bring my f**king car back. 3 weeks later the finance company called and said the dealship made a mistake on my credit app and they had fixed the issue. during this time the dealship called and harrased me, cursing me out and telling me they were going to file criminal charges for the stop payment.They called my job and left very detailed voicemail about our situation which violates the Texas Debt Collection Pratice ACT. I took the car back and made sure I took video and pictures of me doing so. The general manger called me saying he wants 1000 dollras for putting miles on the car and that if I didnt he was filing criminal charges and that i am a piece of s**t. The general manager is very unprofessional his name is Steve Grogean he does not care about customer satisfaction all he cares about is money. He called my job making threats and he was told by my boss not to call and he said he was going to call allday, every hour on the hour. He cursed me out made threats saying I know where you live etc. I had to call the Richardson Police dept to have the harrasment stopped. The sales manager Ceaser Sotelo is not freindly and does not car about customer satisfaxtion as well he made threats to file criminal charges and when I returned the car he sent someone else to get the keys from me when he told me he was getting the keys from me and inpsecting the vehicle. I told hm i WOULD RATHER HE AND i DO IT BUT HE SAID EITHER YOU GIVE THE KEYS TO WHO I SAID OR TAKE THE CAR BACK WE ARE FILING CHRGES ANY WAY IT GOES. BOTTOM LINE THE IS THE WORST DEALERSHIP EVER.I AM DONE WITH TOYOTA BECAUSE OF THESE GUYS. I TALKED TO THE CORPORATE OFFICE BUT THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO HE OWNS THE DEALERSHIP.
