Toyota of Cool Springs Reviews

  • Nov 1, 2017

Toyota of cool springs in franklin tn sold me a 2007 GMC Yukon XL that they had painted over to conceal a major rust issue the truck had. I purchased a first mile vehicle service plan and a paint protection plan warranty from them at the time of purchase. One year later I complained to the dealer and the body shop about the growing rust issue. I was told numerous times that that was not covered under the plan.

I had purchase three vehicles from them and this was the third. I was never supplied with any paperwork on the paint plan when I purchased the vehicle. I was only given paper on the service contract. My vehicle is increasingly getting worse. It has no resale value because of the major rust issue. Toyota made 24,585 on this deal and I have a rusty vehicle that cannot be resold. They did not honor their warranty.

I was defrauded twice when I bought new cars from Toyota of Cool Springs. The first time was about 3 years ago. As part of my negotiations for the car I got them to agree to put a 3m paint protection on the front hood and bumper. They agreed but after all the papers were signed, they said they never maid that promise and that it was not in the contract. Eventually, they gave in and put it on for me. (I didn't like that it did not completely cover the front bumper and it only covered half of the hood so that you saw a line across the hood where it ended but I could not complain because that is the way they normally do it.)

The second time I bought a car from them was in November of 2016. This time I told the salesmen that I wanted the full bumper covered and the full hood covered and the side mirrors. I wanted to make sure that they did not do only half of the bumper and half of the hood. There was extensive negotiation and I agreed to buy the car at the price I did because I knew how much it would cost me to get that paint protection done and I knew that that gave me a fair price to buy the car when that was included.

When we went to finance to fill out all of the paperwork and contracts, I told the finance officer that I wanted to make sure that she put in the contract that I wanted them to do full bumper and full hood and the rearview mirrors. I explained to her that I had problems last time and so I wanted to make sure that it was put in the contract. I told her 3 times. I asked her to confirm that she had put in the contract the verbiage "full hood", "full bumpers" and rearview mirrors. She was typing as I told her and she said that she had done. Again to make sure I had her confirm it again. I should have asked to see where she wrote it down but there were tons of paperwork and I thought she didn't seem like the kind of person who would lie so I took her word for it. She could not have possibly misunderstood because I made it so clear and I made the point multiple times and had her confirm that she had done it. My sister was there and witnessed the conversation. She remembered that we had trouble the time before and so she understood why I was being redundant so that we would not have trouble.

When I brought the car into have the paint protection on I again made sure that the person who took in the car put that I wanted full hood, full bumper and the side mirrors. I had to bring it in multiple times because the first time they had not made an appointment to have the protection put on with the subcontractor so I had to bring it back in again to have the work done. I also called up the subcontractor both times and made sure he understood full hood, full bumpers and side mirrors and I explained to him that I did not like the way it was done last time. The 2nd time that I took it in, the manager called me back and said that they would only do the half hood, half bumper and the rearview mirrors. I told him that it was in the contract but he refused. He looked it up and the finance person and not put it in the contract as I had instructed and she had confirmed she had done. I talked to her and she remembered that I had talked to her about it but she said I asked that there was money set aside for paint protection. I reminded her that I had not said that and I reminded her of what I had said. She said she did not have anything to do with the paint protection. I told her then why did you confirm to me that you had put the verbiage in the contract that I had requested her to do. She denied that I had asked her. I told her that she knows good and well that I did and why does she not just admit that she made a mistake. She would not. She was lying. It is obvious that they will tell you anything to get you to sign the papers and buy the car but they will cheat you when it is too late to refuse to buy the car from them.

DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR FROM THESE FRAUDULENT SALESPEOPLE. Dana Henson was one of the general managers and she was an absolute rear end. George Gerjel is above her but he would not talk to me but she said that he knew about the situation and he would not do what had been promised by the salesmen, finance person and the service people.
