On November 17, 2017, I delivered my 2013 Sundowner Sportman 2 horse trailer to Brian Strohm at Town & Country Trailers in Ada, OK. I had met Brian through the Horse Trailer Conversion II Facebook group and learned that he was moving to Ada. We discussed him doing a conversion for my dressing room and I told him that I wanted an a/c with heat strip, insulation, a walk through door, some storage cabinets and a few electric plugs.
I was told that everything I wanted could be done at a price of $3000-6000 and would take 3-6 weeks to complete. I was asked to purchase the a/c unit before I even delivered the trailer because Brian could order several at once and save the freight. I paid $1000 for the unit and it is in the trailer. Of course it is sitting in the original shipping carton in the middle of the floor but, hey, it is IN the trailer.
When I delivered my trailer, I was asked for a $3000 deposit to get the work started. I paid and was told that his computer was not set up from the move yet so he would send me the invoice that I requested shortly. Well, as of March 6, 2018, I have not received an invoice. When I went to pick up my trailer today I was told that the computer is “fried”.
I suggested a hand written invoice but Brian told me he had no time since he had a doctor’s appointment. (Oh, he was given notice 2 weeks ago that I would be coming for the trailer today.) Throughout the almost 4 months that my trailer was there, I had occasionally asked for photo updates of the work progress. Since I live over 4 hours away, I thought this would be a good way to keep up with what was happening. I was always promised the photos but never got them.
When my friend and I arrived and I opened my dressing room door I was shocked. None of the work had been completed, yet alone even started. Almost 4 months and NOTHING. I am stating only brief facts here but will private message with anyone who has questions or would need to know more. I will leave it up to each of you to decide if this is someone you want to do business with. My only goal here is to get the word out so others will be able to make an informed decision and not be taken in by someone with unscrupulous business practices.
