Toronto Transit Commission Reviews

  • Nov 21, 2019

The TTC is refusing to re-open the manned ticket counters at the Yorkdale and Sheppard West subway stations that used to provide patrons with change and sold tokens. They're planning on shutting down all the manned ticket counters at all subway stations right across Toronto. The TTC plans to stop selling tickets, tokens and its remaining passes (GTA Weekly Pass and TTC Day Pass) on Nov. 30, 2019. They couldn't care less about customer service. They're also refusing to allow cash-paying GO Transit customers to use the lower TTC rate when connecting from GO Transit. Their Polish employee at Union Station refused me this discount on Oct. 11/19.

Write or call them and tell them to re-open all the manned ticket counters across Toronto, keep selling tickets, tokens and passes and allow cash-paying GO Transit customers to use the lower TTC rate when connecting from GO Transit.

Write to the Mayor John Tory at City Hall, 2nd Flr., 100 Queen St. W. Toronto, ON M5H 2N2. Call him at (416) 397-2489 or fax him at (416) 696-3687.

Write to the TTC Chair Jaye Robinson, Alan Heisey Vice-Chair, Richard J. Leary CEO, and the other Commissioners Brad Bradford, Shelley Carroll, Joanne De Laurentiis, Jim Karygiannis, Ron Lalonde, Jennifer McKelvie and Denzil Minnan-Wong c/o the TTC at 1900 Yonge St., Toronto, ON M4S 1Z2. Call them at 416-393-4000.

Boycott all the stupid PRESTO cards and tickets.

My dad was very ill and I was planning to go home , I went to the shopping mall to buy somethings on the 27th of july 2012, as I finish shopping, I went to Eglinton and Victoria Park to take the northbound victoia Park bus. when I got into the bus, the transfer the driver gave me was a Pharmacy transfer.

I did not say anything to him because I knew I was not going to use it just need it ( AS PROOF OF PAYMENT), after I got into the bus I sat near the front , soon after a lady got in with a baby stoller, I moved a couple of seats down with my shopping cart to make room for her to push the baby stroller in. when I got up to exit I noticed the lady with the baby's stroller was still there, other passengers were exiting at the rear door, and as I proceeded to exit at the rear door beind them.

I first pushed my trolley, shopping cart, outside the door of the bus in order to step out of the bus. As I put my foot outside to step down, suddenly, the door squeed me, after people in the bus told hm the something, the driver open the door and I fell out unto the side walk half of my body on the side walk and half under the bus because another bus was at the stop and the bus I was in, was on an angle.

as soon as the driver saw that I pulled my feet from under the bus he took off...

Toronto Transit asked me at discovery why I did not mention the transfer to the driver, I told them I just NEED IT AS PROOF OF PAYMENT, because I was going home, I always take a tansfer as proof of payment.. the Toronto Transit commissioner, need to send me a THANK YOU LETTER. becuase they have changed all their system to read THIS IS YOUR PROOF OF PAYMENT- every trnsfer has it, when you get into Spadina Subway they anounce it, no one in their marketing department could come up with this by me.

There are a lot of complaints launched about the Toronto Transit Commission's Service and I can see Why?

I have actually complained to them before, but they are unfortunately one of those companies that are just Too Big to Care and it shows!

However, my New Public Complaints Shall Remain Permanent On The World Web for everyone to see.

Back on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, I was at the Yonge and Sheppard Subway Station waiting for the train to go Southbound at approximately 1:30 PM when all of a sudden the train arrived, but we were all told Not To Board The Train and that there would Not be any more trains heading Southbound and then were told to go upstairs and catch the bus on Yonge Street right in front of the McDonald's.

I did what I was told and there were many people waiting for a shuttle bus that was supposed to be taking us along Yonge Street Southbound, however, Nothing arrived.

In Fact, the only buses that did arrive and pass us by had the sign written in front stating that they were Out Of Service!

In Addition, they had No Staff Members Available To Assist Us With The Sudden Changes and therefore We Were On Our Own!

What Kind Of a Transit System Is This Anyway?

Apparently Not A Very Good One!

You tell us to go and catch a bus and claimed that there would be shuttle buses there waiting to take us Southbound along Yonge Street, but In Reality, there was Nothing There except for the buses that I had just mentioned above and I do have Photographs of those buses as evidence.

Well, after waiting almost 30 minutes, I decided to go back into the subway station to see if there were any trains operating along the Southbound Route and Thankfully there were.

Sadly, I was about 30-45 minutes late for my appointment because of this unreliable service and had they been more honest on exactly what was going on, then I would have been On Time For My Appointment!

End Of Story!

Your Toronto Transit Commission's Bus And Subway System Really Suck And You All Know It!

Final Thoughts: For The Price Of $3.25 Cents Each Way, It Is Simply A Big Rip Off Because They Raise The Fares Every Year With And/Or Without A Cause And There Are Rarely Any Good Improvements For Their Increases To Make Up For It!
