Top Resume, for the price 149 dollars, contracted to "wow" my resume with a specified delivery date. Their website is intertwined with Affirm, a web service that finances purchases. The resume service did not deliver my product. They have no phone numbers for customer service. They do not answer within the business day they promise. I have cancelled my order in message and email, but get no response. I want this informal complaint to serve as notification if they coerce me for payment.

Affirm too cannot be contacted. They offer circular complaint loops, do not answer inquiries. NOTE: I did not pay them a cent, nor will I. I have emailed/Bot Chatted/ and messaged Sebastian King (Top Resume), Melissa M (Top Resume) BotChat (Affirm). No response. In the event this dynamic, ethically bankrupt company duo tries to coerce me to pay, I want on record this complaint. Let the complaints mount, by all means. They are trouble.

Took weeks for a poor quality draft, riddled with grammatical errors, poor sentence structure and lacking proper punctuation.

After complaining, they said ok we will give you another writer at no charge. Waited a week to receive an email saying that they changed their mind and will do a rewrite for a discounted fee. Stay away from them. A waste of time and money.

I purchased a package through TopResume, which included redoing my Resume for an Account Executive position, a Cover Letter and a LinkedIn profile. I was assigned a writer that first took my original resume and basically did a copied and paste. When I got the Resume back it was sub-par, rudimentary.

There were errors incorrectly copying information over “couldn’t even copy and paste correctly”, it was not pitched correctly and way below the standards of my original resume, which by the way was written by an expert as well. They mislead me into believing that my original resume was below average. They critiqued my resume via Glassdoor, where they offer to review you resume for free. This reminds me of a bait and switch tactic.

I immediately complained to TopResume asking for a refund and expected a professional answer from them, knowing that I was not satisfied with the results, this is how every business is conducted today. Like I stated before, they claim to be professionals and guaranteed the best results, I’m not getting the results promised and I know that I am not going to get my money's worth. I’ve read up about their service and saw a great number of complaints. They refused to give me a refund, I want my money back for a service not delivered.

The writer did not highlighted my best or most recent experience. The Resume was so bad I could not use it. I’ve asked for a refund twice and refused both times. I’ve wrote a personal email to the CEO of the company “Jeff Berger”. Still waiting a response, which honestly I’m 99.9% sure it won’t happen.

The package was to provide a resume professionally written by experts who know my industry, along like I stated before a cover letter and LinkedIn profile. The writer was to be from the top of their network. The resume received was no more than a reshuffling of words on the content written in my original resume. The reshuffling of words was so bad that in some instances, it made no sense at all. It was obvious to me from the first revision that the writer had no clue about my industry/specialization.

The writer never followed up with me before the process to clarify any information in the notes provided. After the first draft was received in each instance I provided feedback. I started to notice a trend, I was basically giving the writer ideas about my resume, in other words “I was writing my own resume by dictating comments to the writer” The LinkedIn make over is joke and does not read well, It was elementary not worth the additional $75. I requested a refund for the LinkedIn portion of the package as well. The cover letter received was basic inadequate based upon the resume written.

The cover letter is copied and pasted from numerous generic websites, replacing key words somewhat relative to your job description. Most of the information on the resume is mine and belongs to me already. I paid close to $300 dollars for my own words to be reused and TopResume’s makes them out to be their own. Please help, look at the numerous complaints from different experiences and see that theirs a parallel between me and the rest of the unhappy customers.

In like July 2016, I had paid for a professionally written resume from TopResume for a total cost $99. I told my resume writer what type of jobs and careers that I am aiming to get. Based on what I had told her, she had told me that she is going to write a resume that targets "internet research" positions. She had my resume written within 1 1/2 weeks. To write a good resume like anything else worth written well takes a good amount of time, research, and expertise. She had obviously rushed through it. Other that what type of positions that I had told her that I am aiming to get & other things that I had filled out about myself on their website, she did not take time to get to know me, do enough research; etc. to write me a good resume and bring out the best of me in a resume. It have now been two years, I have not gotten not a single job, phone interviews, physical interviews; etc. I rarely hear anything back from places that I apply to. The craziest thing is that I had more success with my own professionally resume & even professionally written cover letter. With my own professionally written resume & my own professionally written cover letter, I had received numerous of job rejection emails. However, with my own professionally written cover letter, I had got hired into 1 independent contractor position that had paid $15/hour. With my professionally written resume and cover letter, I had also received many phone interviews and was hearing things back from employers.

I had ordered the following services from topresume.com on Dec 15 2017:

1 x cover letter, 1 x standard resume, 1 x LinkedIn service, 1 x expedited 48-hour turnaround with up to two revisions within the revision period Dec 19th to Dec 26th 2017. Total amount paid: $269

I paid for expedite service (48-hour) turnaround but did not hear back from the resume writer for 3-4 days so I emailed him and then received the resume re-written but it needed serious editing. Emailed back the writer same day and did not hear back from him till Dec 26 saying that he was ‘out of his desk’. This is so unprofessional and as a result I have lost precious time and money which is vital for Job searching. Due to this inconvenience, I have not been able to apply for jobs. Very unprofessional service and will NEVER recommend to anyone.

Have already complaint to BBB. It has been more than 2 weeks and they have not even bothered to reply. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

While I was trying to upload my resume on Monster Job Search Services, I got a pop-up that offered to evaluate my resume I had written by a professional writer a few years ago. I figured that I would give it a try. They claimed that there were many faults.

I paid to have my resume rewritten and asked when I would speak to someone, but nevver was allowedd to talk to anyone. just emails came to me. Now I took it to college near me that says that is too short for my twenty seven years as a police sergeant and in the military.

TOP RESUME take you're cash and then you have to prompt them to receive a resume. When it is sent it is childlike and pathetic. You then have to keep chasing them and they send back the same thing without any changes. You ask for a refund avatar a month of trying and they run and hide . Their service is disgraceful and a 6yr old could provide a better resume than they do ! They are a scam and should be avoided at all costs > DO. NOT USE TOPRESUME.COM

I have a screen shot of TopResume.com's homepage for all resume writing packages that clearly states a guarantee to redo a resume if person doesn't get 2x interviews in 60 days. Instead of honoring this, they sent me (after originally denying guarantee) of language in terms stating applies to certain packages without naming the packages it applies too. Blatant false advertising and one of the main reasons I used them. They need to remove this guarantee and/or honor it.

This service, associated with Beyond.com is hard to track down. They write back under TopResume. The return email disappears as soon as your time expires and emails come back failed! This includes emails responding to continuing charges to my credit card! It is impossible to contact these people! They appear to be Beyond.Com TopResume And TalentUnc And also have a couple "individuals" who write, like Hames Webber, again, you cannot reply bc you get a fail to replies. I canceled my 24.99 charges and have tried to cancel the $1,000 in fees charged to my PayPal for resume, cover letter and thank you. The resume was so poor, I wrote 4 emails asking the writer, what precisely are your qualifications? There were misspellings, wrong acronyms, grammatical errors, styluzing issues and it did not look like it tied to an attorney resume. The cover letter started off " Are you looking for a -----, look no farther!" I think this speaks for itself. The $175 thank you was " Thank you for your time in considering me." And 3 more sentences. I specifically instructed " Amanda", then "Megan" not to charge my acct, 3 times, explaining services, as represented, were not delivered. I received a note back, " feel free to edit what I sent. Sorry no refunds. " Then I tried calling, again, as I had , 9 times, with no return call. I could never reach a live person. I tried in the morning, mid day, end of day, evening, each day of the week and weekend. At no time could I reach a live person. At no Tim did I receive the promised return call. I would like a refund of all amounts charged to me. Not only is the resume useless; to use the resume would be counter productive. The cover letter is embarrassing... " Look no farther..."

I contracted with Topresume in Dec to rewrite my resume. it is now Feb and I do not have a useable resume. I have asked at least 6 times to have a manager call to discuss this situation, NO CALL. They will not return my money paid. I am going to take them to small claims court.

They are a terrible company.

Via internet I paid for a professional writing product after several communication exchanges within the first 24 hours somebody got back to me and continued to make efforts to solicit me for more services. After I paid $119 I reached out after the stated 4 to 7 business days that it would take to receive my product via internet after 8 days I started to email them and at this point I have received no feedback. After several attempts there is no phone number to contact them on and they basically took my money without providing their service. I don't even know how to get my money back!

I hired them once they sent me a good discount, so I hired the most complete package which assures you to have a Top reviewer, a LinkedIn profile, a "cover letter" and all the edition service of your Resume. I found that they collected very effectively my money. but after I sent them all my information, which was extense, they took several days to contact me back. It surprised me that they sent me a draft version of my CV and a "cover letter" that were a complete joke. It was evident that they did not even read my resume, because they included a fifth of my work experience and one third of my studies, but what really pissed me off was that the CV they sent me was 90% different of my experience & Skills, and the cover letter they sent me, was totally not applicable to me.

I complained about this, they replied 4 days later (they only give you 7 days to review) with a newer version, which was a little bit more complete, but was still oriented to other type of person, not alligned to my experience. I sent my comments immediately back, and then I received a newer version (3 days later) after the deadline to review. They just sent me a notice saying "since your time to review has ended, we have concluded our services with you". I complained back and I never heard from them again.

Beware of this Fraud company! They have Zero Professionalism.

1. I paid for an expedited service. I received the "first draft" within the expected time frame, but, from a quality perspective, it was absolutely terrible. I'm a CFO with years of financial and management experience, and yet the first skill listed was a generic "excellent communication skills".

2. From that point forward, the process was exceptionally slow. Subsequent drafts took days to arrive, and my emails went unanswered.

3. The quality was absolutely wretched. The entire resume was built on buzz-words and fluff. The result was meaningless, and more likely to lose jobs than gain them. They are using template terms and phrases, and applying them universally, rather than tailoring something appropriate to the individual's experience and strengths.

4. Although I paid for a service to update my LinkedIn profile, it was never done. And, frankly, thank goodness. I threw their resume in the trash - I certainly don't want this company influencing my online brand as well.

Additionally, keep in mind that they promise to work with you on multiple revisions until you are satisfied. However, you only have 7 days from the first draft to request changes, and I assure you, they'll take 6 days to make the adjustments, so you won't have another opportunity.
