Stay clear from this owner. It's not his 1st and probably not his last bc as soon as he burns enough people in 1 area he moves to the next with a new reputation.
I went to his dealership to check out a truck, but when I test drove it, it was junk so I said no and was ready to move on. Then I was convinced to test another vehicle that I knew should be out of my price range but was convinced by mike that he would work the deal so i agreed since he promised to pay off my trade. I gave mike 6k for a down payment and signed paperwork but he said I would need to come back to complete the financing. I went to Mesa from tucson a total of 9-10 times in approx 4 month time period being promised it was done and ready for finalization but each trip I was given a different excuse why it wasn't ready. During that time frame I also was instructed by mike to stop paying on my trade but it didnt sound right so I contacted my bank who told me that if I did so I would be in default of my loan. Also I began receiving denial letters from banks and institutions in the mail. I received 19 hard inquires to my credit.
The whole time I would be in contact over the phone who told me not to worry that it was not an issue. I also continuously asked him about my new vehicle payment but he again told me not to worry that everything would be settled when we finalized. On my 9th trip when I was told it's done just come meet him to go over everything, he was conveniently out of the office that day but gave fresh contract to his sales rep for me to sign. In the new contract he wanted more money down, higher interest by 5%, higher payments, and a cosigner. I handed the contract back to the rep and told him it's not the deal mike made with me and I wouldn't sign it.
The next day mike calls me cussing me out saying I had to sign it and he was trying to help me or I'd be in default with the bank but refused to give me the bank information then told me he is the bank and I better sign it or else he is keeping my trade, my down payment, and reporting the truck stolen if I didnt return it. I told him he was on speaker with a witness and he promptly stated that no recording could be used in court and hung up on me. The next day I received a default letter for the vehicle and that I needed to either pay for the vehicle in full in less than 24hrs or return it or its be reported stolen. So the next day i made my 10th trip up to Mesa where he was located then. He offered me a deal again what he stated over the phone, or I get nothing, or i select a cheaper vehicle off his lot.
At this point i knew i was screwed but needed a vehicle and was previously advised by a different dealer to take what I could get without giving him anything more and keep it for 6 months then get rid of it. I knew I didnt want to give this crook anymore money, nor did I want my wife to cosign and be getting ripped off as well so I agreed to take another vehicle. When i took possession of the vehicle the driver door handle was broken, tires were all bald, the front suspension was bad and wouldn't stop rattling, there was a bad shaking on the rear all the way home that night that night that I later found out was the rear shock that was less than finger tightened to the frame and about to fall off. I was told at the time of possession this would all be fixed but as the weeks went by all I ever heard from mike was the parts are on back order and I've been driving it and the tires were fine before. I kept that pos for 6 months and sunk another 2k in repairs b4 I finally traded it. I cant stress enough, this guy is a scam artist and will look for anyway possible to screw you, your spouse, and your mother given the opportunity. Stay away from his dealerships, run if you see his name or his wife name associated with that business bc there's a special place in hell for people like him.
