I was ripped off in a big, big way. Trusted this bassist/producer; T. Saunders who was supposed to be great at what he did, to produce a cd product for me. Agreed to $1000.00 per track of 10 songs. Which included everything he was to do on the project. Paid him $10,000.00 and didn't get the full studio time to record for the money paid. Recorded in rough draft (9) songs and only two were mixed and finished. Didn't get to record the tenth song at all.
Mistake.....never befriend anyone you are doing business with. Never works out. One or the other will suffer. Was put on the back burner (so to speak) while he did two cd projects of his own, always having personal problems, of which being a friend helped him out keeping him a float (financially) so he could make his gigs his band was playing at.
He did not want the public to know he didn't have money and was doing bad. Wore a mask (so to speak) the 4 1/2 years I have known him.
Started getting excuses, paid for musicians to play on some of the songs, and never got a chance to hear two of the songs that were recorded. To top that off, the tenth song to this day and another one revised, have never been heard by me.
Always excuses of what he had to do with other clients working with that he owed time to.
Knew then something was shaddy but tried to give the benefit of the doubt, because of the money I had paid, and that fact that he was suppose to be a friend. Boy did that turn out to be a lie
I wanted my project done. He started Claiming there was nothing else that could be done on my project until all musicans were paid to contribute on the project.
I was frustrated and asked for my music files and to end the business relation due to not recieving what was paid for. Told me, he did not put out nothing but the best. I told him about noticing that he put more into his own project as well as some of his other client's projects I heard.
Kept telling me, mine was gonna be great. And he was finishing my project. We went round and round about it back and forth.but I never could get into the studio to work on vocals on songs that were recorded in rough draft.
Did not get the studio time I paid for or the tenth song that he claimed he arranged that I have never heard or one that was redone with an additional guitarist coming in that I paid for.
I have experienced a very bad business as well as friendship relationship with T. Saunders Bassist/Producer.
To this date still waiting for my music files, and was informed by T. Saunders that I would have to recreate some of the musc due to it being done midi. Go figure!
People check out people thoroughly before going into any business relationshio with them and giving them your money. Make sure they follow through with what you have contractually agreed upon. Never let friendships mix with business relationships. Not worth it at all.
I am left holding not only a $10,000.00 lost bag, but an additional $7,500.00 and $510.00 lost bag without a project in my hands. Not to mention additional funds given him t keep him moving financially. Biggest mustake I ever made.
I have definately learned a valuable lesson from T. Saunders Bassist/Producer.
