I purchased a dodge journey in feb. 2016 from Tom Masano auto group with 60,000 miles on it. They were wonderful when making the sale. They also went above and beyond to do everything they could to make my purchase smooth and easy. I recieved a 90 day warranty and immediately started to have problems with my new car. They fixed somethings and were reluctent about fixing others. The great customer service that I had experienced while purchasing the car quickly went away.
Now a year after purchasing the car it started to overheat. I took it to my repair shop only to find out that my engine had failed and needed to be replaced. I only had this car for a year and 3 months and have not taken any big raod trips in it. I also found that the original engine had been replaced before i purchased it and i was never told this because surely that would have raised a red flag. I immediately conntacted my original sales guy who said he would talk to his manager and call us back. We never received a call back and had to call many more times. Everytime we called the employees, including managers, acted as if they didn't know what to do. So we went into the dealership and the manager told us that without a warrenty there was nothing they could do. They didn't even care. They are a certified used dealership and are required to thoroughly inspect all cars before selling them. I asked the manager about this and he said they don't normally inspect the engine and acted as if no one would have know that the engone had been replaced. They could care less about how dishonest them were. We put 11,000 miles on the car and the engine should not have seized. This is outrageous and they acted as if this was normal. The are completely content with that fact that they sold me a piece of trash. So now I sit here with no car and a family of six that rely on this car daily and I still owe $11,000 on this broken car. NEVER BUY A CAR FROM TOM MASANO AUTO GROUP!
