I have known Todd Elliot for several years and have written a few articles for his online magazine Coast To Coast Newspaper. I have also set up press dinners for him and his online magazine with several restaurants and taken the photos at those dinners. After seeing him regularly being unprofessional, incredibley self-centered and inappropriatly bossy, i reached my breaking point cut off any contact with him and feel the need to warn people who might want to work with him. He is the last person in the world i would trust to be involved in planning a wedding, or booking a band with or any involvement in his online magazine. Below is an e mail I recieved regarding Todd behavior. Todd had asked me to try and get him into an event and the company running the event sent this e mail over. Below is WORD FOR WORD THEIR E MAIL.
i wanted to give you the heads up that Todd Elliot showed up at White Lights Night after being declined from the event several times directly from the organization restaurant committee member and several times from different people at LocaliteLA Once he was spotted he ran through the event until security could catch him and escort him out from the event, Not only did he attend uninvited he snuck into a charity event, where we try to raise money directly from ticket sales. i wanted to pass this information along for you to use your best judgement for any future communications you may have with him. Several PR firms throughout LA have already been informed of his behavior and he has been blacklisted since this is not the first time he has snuck into an event ininvited.

While writing articles for Todd Coast To Coast Newspaper it became clear that this small online magazine generates zero income and is strictly there so Todd can get free hotel rooms, free meals, free entry into events in return for writing articles. The problem is once Todd gets his freebie he then puts as little effort and work into the articles and they turn out lower in quality than anything i have ever seen. He doesnt even caption his photos and place them into the middle of the article because that would require more work. i go to Hawaii quite a bit and at one point he asked for pointers on great places and things to do so I reccomended to Todd a company i knew that takes you swimming with wild dolphins in Ohau, adventureinhawaii.com. months later i saw the article on Todd's Coast To Coast Newspaper website and it was a very detailed and well written article unlike all of Todd's other articles. I called my friends with the dolphin experience to take my family and i told them i liked the article Todd wrote. The Dolphin company told me "working with Todd ELLiot was the worst media experience they ever had' They went on to tell me that the article on the website i read was not written by Todd but completely written by the owner of the dolphin experience company. This happened because Todd wrote such a bad article without any of the details and scope they expected and recieve from dozens of other media outlets. Since Todd wouldnt put in the time to do a good job the owner felt the only thing to do was do the work himself. So the article has Todd name but he did not write it. When I asked Todd how the dolphin experience went without telling him I had talked to them he railed about how difficult they were and wouldn't even talk about the swimming with dolphins. This shows how he is sooo unaware Todd is. It's always someone elses fault but the truth is he does shabby work. I experienced the same thing with Todd when we both along with 14 other writers were flown to EL Salvador for a press trip, we stayed in great hotels had great meals visited a dozen wonderful sites with a guide. When we all got home the 16 writters all wrote articles for different magazines and blogs. When I read Todd article it didnt have even have the details and scope that my article and all other 15 writers wrote. Again once he gets his freebie trip he does as little work as possible, and it show in form of bad work. When I set up press dinners he would often order extra dishes near the end of the meal take two bites and then wrap it up to take home so he gets free extra dish, this is not appropriate to do. At the District restaurant I set up the press dinner the manager complained to me Todd was ordering to many expensive dishes. Many times I got complaints form restaurant owner or manager on how selfish and greedy he was acting. I personally found him often to be rude and bossy. I had to take the photos at these press dinners because for many years Todd only had a cheap flip phone he was too cheap to buy a smart phone. I explained he could even buy a used smart phone but years went buy till he finally did. How unprofessional to run a wedding business on a flip phone. Often he would bug me to bring his two very young children to a press dinner, this again is very unprofessional, they would cry and fight and spill their drinks and the restuarant owners would complain to me. I could give many more examples but enough said I would just warn you that although i have never been involved in his weddings of band booking s that my experience is that people like Todd that only think of themseleves and do shabby work that i have seen first hand can not then turn that off and do a great job in their other endevors.
