Titan Moving and Storage Reviews

  • Jun 21, 2018

Titan moving and storage out of Chantilly VA. Phone: 866-338-1448; address: 13893 Willard ST; US: DOT 2910112; MC: 980273. If you are get an estimate with any of that info on it RUN!! DO NOT USE THEM!!!. I found out after the fact that there a several Titan moving companies and more than 1 located in VA.

We contracted with the fraudulent Titan moving and storage to move us from Wisconsin to Georgia. We were quoted a time frame of 5 days from our 1st available delivery date (may 27th) for $1800 and truck space of 541 cf. After paying the deposit we received the contract, which indicted the delivery could take up to 14 business days. I called the broker (Brendan) back and he indicted the move would still be 5 days but that the contract had to indicate 14 days. Against our better judgement we still went forward given the low quote. After our deposit was paid we never heard from Brendan again. 2 days prior to pick up we were called by a Tyler Thompson/Thomas (if that's his actual name- lead dispatcher) who advised that the truck scheduled to pick up our things had broken down and that they were working on a replacement truck. Ok fine. They do arrive as scheduled on pick up day May 24th however truck that arrived was smaller than what we were quoted -a semi tractor trailer half full- instead being only 1800sqf with 1300 already occupied. We received a call from dispatch advising that if we wanted more room we could pay another $900 -which wasn't even available unless they took the other persons things and stacked them up to the roof of the truck. We declined and when we questioned being short on the contracted space they very rudely said we had our space since they were stacking our items and if that was a problem they could unload our things. At this point we needed to be in GA soon and with the driver reassuring us that he would be delivering in 5 days to GA, we paid the 2nd of the 3 payments. We were forced to give away and leave quite a few things behind.

Fast forward 7 days we give them a call as no one has contacted us, and were informed our things had been placed in storage (mind you we didn't ask for or ever approve this) and that they would be delivering the following week. Ok Fine again. Another 5 days, we call again, same story- still not loaded for delivery, this time the excuse being that of their 3 trucks 2 had failed inspection and the 1 that passed was headed to CA. This continued with excuse after excuse. We ask for a location to come pick up our things, Tyler says they cant disclose the location until we confirm and pay them a total of $1600! REALLY $1600 TO MOVE US FROM MILWAUKEE TO CHICAGO a 2 hour drive!! He then advised they have 21 days per the DOT to complete delivery, I pointed out that contractually they had 14.He advised that he could not guarantee they would deliver within the 14 day timeframe and that after day 14 they would take off $30 per day for being late to be reduced from the final payment. We were later advised by a Tommy Wheeler (customer service rep) that we would need to file a claim on a form which says it can take up to 120 days for review.

To date -06/22/2018- we still do not have our items or a confirmed delivery date. Every time we call we are hung up on and have had to call back up to 25 times just to speak to a person about delivery. Today we were advised by a Terrance who claims to be a manager that our things have not been loaded for delivery & are still in storage in Chicago and they will deliver once they have a driver coming in our direction. This directly contradicts their "lead" dispatcher who called 2 days ago saying we are scheduled for loading and delivery THIS WEEK! It has been 19 BUSINESS days & 26 days total with no confirmed delivery. OUTRAGEOUS!!! Each time we call they are outright rude and disgusting. There is no consistency or even common decency from this company OR THEIR EMPLOYEES. They have refused to tell us the address of where our things are being kept or when we can expect delivery.

It would be great if they honor their employees word of taking the $30 off per day for each day late at time of delivery but given all the difficulty in just getting a status update I find it unlikely. At this point We just want our things be DELIVERED!!! Prehaps the most disturbing part of all of this is that my husband is in need of a heart/kidney transplant which is the entire reason we had to rush to get to GA so that he could be seen at Emory hospital a center of excellence for dual organ transplants. Some of his medical equipment we put on that truck with the assurance it would be delivered within 5 days. The stress of this situation contributed to him having to be hospitalized. This company has no shame, no conscience nor scruples. They are crooks and scammers to be avoided at all costs.
