Timeshare Elimination Consultants Reviews
I received a phone call asking me if my Wyndham timeshare in Myrtle Beach was something Id like to unload. I said it was and told them that the maintenance fees of $750/year was more than I could handle due to recently losing my job do to an injury. They sounded nice and said that they had a represenative in my area who would meet with me at my home.
Thats where the high-pressured tactics started, I felt like I was back at the timeshare presentation. After explaining that it was " impossible " to get rid of my timeshare without the help of professionals and a " team of lawyers " they hit me with a price of $9600 for their service. I told the agent that when I set the appointment I told them I was out of work and didnt have any extra money and that was why I needed to get rid of it, and that if there was any cost I didnt want to waste their time.
The agent then went on to tell me my children and grandchildren would be forced to inherit it and that if I stopped paying maintenance fees Wyndham would put a lien against my home. He then called to his office and got me a one-time hardship discount of 25%, for a total of $7200, but I had to sign up right then on the spot, the offer wouldnt be good tomorrow.
I felt like I was back at the timeshare resort when I bought it. They asked me for an absurd amount of money, then gave me a " special deal " to buy right then. I borrowed the money from my sister because I believed what they told me. They guaranteed their service or I`d get a refund. Two days later I tried to cancel but Russell Smith, the owner, told me I wasn`t eligible because the check was deposited overnight.
3 months later nothing had happenned and they wouldnt take my calls, and now its been 5 months and theyve still stopped taking my calls--The worst part is that last week I spoke with Wyndham and they said everything I was told was a lie and that they had a program called Wyndham Ovations where they`d happily let me out of the contract for no cost.
Just today I received the paperwork from Wyndham to sign the property back to them with a letter stating they hate to see me go but understand the financial hardship I`m under. I sure wish I wouldve spoke to Wyndham first and not given in to their high pressure tactics. Now Im committed to giving my sister $150/month for the next four years, which is twice as much as what my maintenance fees were.
Because of Timeshare Elimination Consultants and Russell Smith my bad situation became even worse, I was lied to, taken advantage of and laughed at.
