I am a young entrepreneur who was looking to have my own business that would’ve led me down a path to financial freedom which led me to franchisedirect.com. I looked for franchises under $30Kand I came across Time To Eat Delivery. Time To Eat Delivery is noted as having a set up of them doing everything for you in the creation process of your restaurant delivery business with having sales reps coming out and selling your business to local businesses in your area for only $30k.
It sounded great and I press for more information on Franchisedirect.com. I got a call 3 days later and a sales rep called telling me about the business. I agreed to try it out and the rep recommended me two lenders. I PUT DOWN $3k TO GET STARTED and One guy that she highly recommended, WANTED ME TO PUT MULTIPLE CREDIT CARDS IN MY NAME TO PAY OFF THE $30k LOAN. RED FLAG#1. Now i had my concerns but I really wanted to do it, so I shopped my credit to try to get the loan but to no avail I couldn’t raise enough capital.
While doing this, Time To Eat employees called me once EVERY two days for 10mins during week and responded to emails every 24 hours but did not pick up phone calls ABOUT MY BUSINESS. With the time difference of me being on East coast and them on west, they used this as an excuse. Red flag#2. During this process they were trying to find a logo and didn’t like any of them they recommended and I was still trying to find a name.
I eventually found a name but no logo, so I found a logo by researching myself. As a sidenote, they also limit you to 200k population size in each territory capping you to a certain area which was also difficult for me. After looking through loan options and running my credit though the mud, I realize financially I couldn’t do it. NO WEBSITE, NO BUSINESS, NO MERCHANDISE NOR A TRADEMARKED NAME. I reached out to DESIREE the owner who now tells me my down payment is nonrefundable and that the hours they worked on my business which includes me finding my own logo, name and determining my territory by siphering through zip codes of a population of 200k equates to $3000.
I’m not a math mathematician, but I don’t even get paid $ 3000 in a month and I work 40 hours a week vs a company working maybe 2 hours of work on a business that was never created OR registered and believe they be paid more than I make in a month 1/2 with a no accountability in their contract or from their own Desiree about not working to standard to make franchisees successful.
Now I have absolutely nothing to show from this transaction, Time To Eat Delivery wont refund me money that they did not earn and that I didn’t get anything from paying. My credit is ruined, I have two kids, I have a pregnant wife and I am mad as hell that I ever worked with them as they refuse to give me back my refund. Franchisedirect.com is promoting companies that have bad values and I highly recommend DONT WORK WITH TIME TO EAT DELIVERY AND VET COMPANIES ON FRANCHISEDIRECT.COM BEFORE YOU PAY THEM ANYTHING!!
