I came in with severe pain. I had already been told that it was a decayed tooth which hardly anything left due to a molar that had pushed up against it for years. As someone who tries to keep a healthy mouth...I knew I had not done ALL that could be done. I wast old that I really needed an implant. Although we are grateful for our dental plan, it still gets very expensive. My husband made me a second appointment with Timberland Dental...same day...a Thursday...and I went directly there. As I entered the doors I was..."greeted"...by a nice front desk. The original front desk girl was named "Madeline" but the women with platinum blonde hair to her right, was very quick to answer that appointment wasn't for this afternoon at all. That it was in the morning and I should take IBprofren and come back. I commented on my pain but understood.
The next morning I came in, stressed bc of such pain. I was seen fairly quickly treated amazingly well by Dr.Anu. She was very The same older platinum blonde not only organized my appointment but was apparently the woman who sets up and does the X-rays in her "front office attire" and without gloves. I found it a bit strange. But moving on....The Dr basically said that they needed to do a root canal and cross our fingers in hopes that it works. If it did not work, there was then the implant. I was given (10) 5/325 "narcos" and told to take it over them from Friday morning until Monday morning (every 4-6 hrs) until I could get back on Monday! HOWEVER, Dr.Anu said my pain was caused by an "acutely exposed nerve" which could be extremely painful. . I couldn't eat, sleep, focus on my family much less take part in our weekend activities. After crying and trying everything from orgel to melted Ibprofren to dull the pain. As you can imagine, I called up there the very next morning. After telling Madeline what had transpired over the last 24 hrs and that I would need a stronger pain medication, I was placed on hold. It was now "The platinum blonde" turn to answer my inquiry. Her pompous reaction was just as I had expected...pompous and degrading. She acted as if it was a ridiculous request to try to take the edge of such intense pain. She also acted as if I was I was overreacting. After explaining to my husband how disrespected I felt he then called another dental office that had been referred by a family member and I was seen that day, had a payment plan drawn up and my painful tooth was removed and the metal portion of an implant placed with instructions to heal and comeback in for the completion of the implant. In the paperwork it says that you have 24 hrs to call and cancel our appointment.
It being Sunday, my husband called and left 2 messages canceling in advance and then ANOTHER 2 calls placed at 6 am stating the same thing. He called at 9am and continued until Admin answered at 9:11a.m A few hours later I was contacted by The Platinum Blonde (forgive me for I obviously can't recall her name) and told that I would be charged for the estimated appointment time. They had estimated a time of 2 1/2 hrs the removal and implant would take so therefore I'd be charged $50 an hour for my canceled appointment. Of course, we explained that we had to call Saturday night as I was being treated Saturday morning-afternoon. Sunday we began to call again w no other option but to leave VM bc my appointment was their first one...they were closed early on Saturdays and not in the office on Sunday's. My appointment was the very first one at 9am Monday. She seemed to understand the predicament and said we'd simply be charged for the X-rays (if anything was left over after insurance was applied. She then contacted me AGAIN asking what the problem was and why I went somewhere else. When I told her the truth; that I felt I was treated disrespectfully by (only) her, she apologized and asked who I had gone with. I gave her no further information. I now sit in front of a Timberland Dental bill charging our family for evaluation, several radiographic images. All covered through our insurance. Then HIGHLIGHTED in orange pen a "missed appointment bill" for $225!!! I feel this charge is a deliberate attempt to get SOMETHING out of us since I had been honest about this woman's behavior. Especially since she told me beforehand "There would not be a cancelation charge" bc of all of the attempts made to cancel ON A WEEKEND! She's a jerk! I've now been told that the "regional manager" has sent their own front desk girls "nasty emails" if they give out her information. This is the REGIONAL manager, not the platinum blonde OFFICE MANAGER. It's a privately owned office. I've given my info and have asked that this regional manager contact my husband and myself within 24 hrs and that this bill is bogus and irrational! Don't go! We now use Next Century Dental and they were top notch, quick and the procedure itself was painless and I was given proper meds to take during the healing process. Which I didn't even need to finish the bottle!!!! The Nerve
