TigerDirect, Inc. Reviews

I bought two items from Tigerdirect, each with a $20 rebate offer attached. They sent me (2) American Express Prepaid Rewards cards each loaded with a $20 balance. Now here's the scam: The cards were issued to me back in 2012 and bear expiration dates of 06/20, leading one to believe they have eight years to redeem said cards. They also say on the front of the cards "Funds do not expire." Well I've just come to find out that's a F'ing lie, and that after six months they (American Express) began syphoning $2/month off of each card for a "maintenance fee" (massive violent eye roll). Now why the hell would Amex put an expiration date of eight years in the future on the face of the card when they know d**n well that, mathematically, the card would be completely drained within a year and a half of inactivity, other than to mislead and scam the customer? I would have redeemed the cards much sooner but any time I attempted to make a purchase with them the cards were declined, I'm assuming because they're tied to some zip code that is clearly not mine, so they ultimately got tossed into a drawer to be dealt with at some other time. That time was today, when I learned that both cards now carry a zero balance because American Express stole their money back.

I'm just totally grossed out by this entire experience from start to finish. I am a cardholder of American Express credit and charge cards as well and always thought Amex was a more honest company than this. I hope they enjoy the $40 they stole from me, because it's ultimately going to cost them much more than $40 as I will no longer be using their credit or charge cards after this experience. It does NOT cost their F'ing company $2/mo to "maintain" these rebate cards! How disgusting that this is even legal. F-U, Amex! And I'm done with your scam rebates, Tigerdirect! Fool me once.

We ordered an Acer modem that was highly recommended, but we learned rather quickly that it was on backorder (we received an email from their company). During the interim (6 months), we never received it, but we were charged for it ($78.60) nonetheless. After contacting them several time, they were extremely uncooperative, rude (incredulous that I contacted them after 6 months), and poorly communicative on how to rectify this situation. Needless to say, I contacted Discover, who immediately credited us the sale with perfect aplomb, high customer respect, and kindness. I will NEVER buy from TigerDirect again.

This company sends email to any address they get hold of. The place on the email to remove

will not work. After mutiple emails to them they still keep sending email. Wish a hacker would

mess up their email!

I submitted a rebate in early December 2015 for an item purchased online at TigerDirect.com, but never received the $30.00 MasterCard promised. When I recently discovered that I had not received the rebate, I notified the company and was told the rebate was denied as they had not received the required submission and that it was too late for a re-submission.

I never received an e-mail or a letter stating that the rebate had been denied.

I have copies of all required documents originally submitted.

I placed an order that included a number of high end parts to build a custom workstation for a client. Two of the items I purchased were Samsung Pro Series SSD's. One of them arrived just fine, and the second package was shipped weighing .4lbs lighter. When that package arrived there was packaging material and a retail Samsung SSD box inside, but NO SSD! The SSD that was supposed to be inside the box was a 2 TB Pro Series that I paid $949.99 for. I immediately reported this to TigerDirect and they launched an "investigation".

after over a month of being told that my refund was approved and just waiting to be processed back to me, I ramped up the pressure on TigerDirect to return my money that they were holding hostage at that point. They then told me that they were refusing to refund my money stating that the package weight was the same when UPS delivered it as it was when it was packaged by them.

It does not take a genius to figure out that whomever was supposed to put the SSD inside of that reail box simply didn't so so either on purpose or by oversight. So the package would have weighed the same. However, I did have that other SSD that I purchased and TD shipped to me in its own box...and the weight of that package was officially checked in at .4lbs HEAVIER than the box that did not have an SSD inside. I provided this information to TD managers in a very easy to see side by side JPG. They never responded to that evidence.

I even contacted a UPS rep personally and they verified that the package weights were substantially different in weight. (Substantially different considering the very minimal weight of an SSD, but it was clear that the package with the missing SSD was light!) It has been over 2 months now and Roger Insua, the Customer Service Manager, still refuses to do anything for me. I have also attempted contacting another manager but neither Roger nor Rick reply to my emails, calls, or voicemails. The last email response I had was one by Roger claiming I was "threatening" them by stating that I was turning them in to the BBB, FTC and any other fraud sites. I'm sure he was simply trying to scare me away so that I give up and let them steal my money for good.

The final kicker to this mess is that Roger told me that if I had purchased another SSD from another store after I reported the item missing that they would refund my money. I had purchased another SSD to replace this over a month ago from another provider...of course I didn't have the receipt after 40+ days so I have to contact the business owner to come up with one from his records...which he luckily was able to send me his invoice copy. I turned that in to Roger Insua and another manager at Tiger Direct...and they have not replied.

I have sent emails asking for a response, placed phone calls, and left a voice message specifically asking for a response. But they have done nothing!! They said they would issue a refund once they had proof of purchase elsewhere (which is completely inconpetent of them by the way since they should have done so when I proved that the package was lighter than the other package that should have been the exact same weight!!). I would never in a million years purchase anything from these fraudulent crooks again. They are a massive disgrace and incredibly dishonest!!

Beware of fine print on ADATA rebate forms. Company cheated me out of a rebate. They said the rebate was limited to two items on the form. They also had a checklist for what to send. It even calculated the rebate amount on the form. I submitted the info electronically and sent paperwork by snail mail as required. Latter when checking on the rebate I find that they were only going to give me a rebate on one item, in the fine print they say must be sent individually. So I will only received half the amount I was entitled to. This came to light when I ordered additional items thru Tiger Direct from ADATA also with a rebate, so I decide to check on the last rebate.

I will be calling Tiger Direct in the morning to cancel my new order. ADATA is now on my BLACK LIST for companies not to do business with. Tiger direct is not to blame for this. You could say it's my fault but a simple rebate should not be deceptive.

I ordered something on 9/3 for overnight delivery, and paid $21 for shipping. It didn't arrive on the 4th, then it didn't arrive on the 5th. The next two days were a Sunday and Holiday, so I didn't get it then either. TigerDirect sent me an email update on the 3rd to let me know it had shipped. So believing that, I was not happy with UPS, who was shipping it. However, UPS told me that it wasn't made available to them for pickup until the 4th. So TigerDirect intentionally lead me to believe that it had been shipped on the 3rd but it wasn't. That is now an extra 4 days I have without my PC working, waiting on the parts.

When I called to ask for my overnight delivery charge back, the agent actually said NO - he "can't do that" What??? I had to talk to his supervisor and waste another 20 minutes on the phone until he finally agreed to refund my money. The only reason they have 2 stars instead of 1 is that they finally agreed to refund me.

Stay away from TigerDirect.
