I wish to report a company by the name of Tick Tock Junk Removal Service. The service is based in Seattle, WA and has a noted reputation, but I found it to be disappointing.
Last summer, I was in a feud with my building mananger who told me I hd to get rid of 80% of my personal belongings. Some of it I moved to my own personal storage, however only being one person there were furniture items that I could not move myself. Some of these were very unsightly and unfinished, however book cases were in the finest shape. I had other tiems that were in fine shape, and I reported I had found the major cause of a bedbug infestation. Tic k Tock was called in because of their 'expertise' in the removal of bug infested items.
The day Tick Tock was due to arrive, i had rented a truck and right after my return, the manager shows up to meet TT. they were not due for a while so he told me not to remove anything. I had just enough time to separate the things that were okay from those that needing removal, but he chose to remain until TT arrived.
At first, I was allowed to show TT what to look for and what to remove, while it was suggested I empty out a couple of bookcases and a wardrobe cabinet while they stated on the opposite end of the living room. While I was boxing and sorting, TT took clothes I wanted to save for washing and even library books (these were labelled "King County Library System" so how could they miss that?), as well as others I meant to save. CD cabinets loaded with CDs i wanted and other furniture pieces were removed. The mananger had left by this time so I and TT were left together. One guy Luke, seemed conscientious enough, but his partner made a mess of things. I had saved a shirt I wanted to keep but because I was busy and did not take time to put it on, he picked it up and trashed it. I had to pay $60.00 to replace the library books they took away!
I will never be able to get back the clothing, CDs and library books that were taken away. Even a few important papers were lost. The mananger was still not satisfied so he arranged for TT to come back and take my bed, mattress and box springs and a dresser i had (my last remaining bits of furniture!) remining in the living room. The manager swore they would replace any furniture items I was really needing, so I watched the TT mover like a hawk. I caught a couple of them taking things I wanted to save this time, but I still had to part with the dresser and bed springs. They even took a glass top table with metal legs, so how could that become bedbug infested?
To this day I have heard nothing from TT, even when I told them they had taken things I wanted. The mananger has replaced nothing (Capitol Hill Housing can be another report entirely!) so I am left with boxes, bags and one metal chair and a makeshift table I made for my computer (covered with plastic bags etc.). Capitol Hill Housing has not finished with chemical treatment, needed to eradicate the bedbug problem. It has been diminished somewhat, but not eliminated.
Tick Tock is a company I cannot recommend for their services and I will be notifying the authorities concerning their licensing obligations.
