Thrive Market, Inc. Reviews

To make an order and was then charged for a one year subscription. I have tried to cancel membership. Thrive Market refuses to close my membership and refund my money. They offered a partial refund but then did not honor that either and I told them I won't order from them anymore as I found same products at local stores and on Amazon for less and they charged me $59.95 membership fee to get exclusive "wholesale" deals that they don't truly offer.

This business does not practice ethical business practices. The rules are in very small print and reads as though it would charge as a monthly membership and I was fine to pay for one month as I was only making the one order. I found the one product on sale on their site for the right price to have made that single purchase worth spending a one month member fee on. I was then charged for a year. I also have never received the promised $20 credit either. Customer Support does not listen to customer concerns and they make unauthorized charges on your credit card.

I got hooked by the "Free Jar of Coconut Oil". I made a small purchase and they have charged me 3 years for the $59.95 membership. I only found out because I dont use that bank account anymore was surprized to see the balance go down.

Nowhere on their order page does it inform you that you will be charged $59.95 per year, starting one month after your first order. I was also unable to delete my credit card information from their system. I had to call my bank to block future charges. They don't have a cancellation button on their website, but instead you need to call them during 9-4 business hours. I got a canned response from support email. No refund. I have not called.

This is a scam. AVOID THRIVE MARKET

I made an order with Thrive and tried to cancel my "free trial membership" but I was charged anyway. I contacted customer service but they still refused to refund me.

I had earned free shipping for my order. After I placed my order I saw that I was charged. Within a minute of ordering I emailed Thrive to cancel my order. They refused. They went through the hassel of refusing to cancel my order. Why would a company risk their reputation and a customer over $5? If they have done this to hundreds of customer, I suppose it would be a huge pay day. Or they have excellent attorney's that go after anyone who complains. $5 isn't worth it. But I guess that's the difference between someone honest and someone not honest. I'm truly disappinted by such recklessness.

Online food market offered a "FREE" 90 DAY MEMBERSHIP/Trial period, on Facebook. I bought a few items. Then, when it came to renew/JOIN as a full-paying member, I opted out and sent the required email to their "cancellation" dept., as explained on their confusing/misleading website. I called their customer services to cancel, SEVERAL times. I was told to mail an email with the cancellation request, which I did, then REPEATED! ONE FULL YEAR LATER, I am informed that my membership is up for renewal and I will be billed ANOTHER $60 on my credit card. "RENEWAL"?? I thought to myself, I CANCELLED THIS MEMBERSHIP A FULL YEAR AGO!!! I called their customer service to ask for a refund.

I NEVER ORDERED ANYTHING ELSE FROM THIS EVIL, MONSTRUOS, DEMONIC BEA$T OF A COMPANY/CORPORATION! They REFUSED to give me a refund (for a FULL year membership, which I NEVER USED after their 'free' trial period). I started to fight with them on the phone. The stress from both the nastiness & disrespect towards me from their AWFUL "customer services", caused me, an elderly grandmother, to get seriously dizzy. I survive on $300 a month S.Security, how the h*ll am I supposed to support these total THIEVES with a THEFT of $60 from my credit card and another charge to arrive TODAY! I tried calling them back to cancel my account, ONCE AGAIN, and noticed their "customer service" representatives (conveniently) aren't available after 5pm. THERE IS NO OPTION OF CANCELLATION ON THEIR WEBSITE!!

I need serious help on this. Can the other complaintants on here unite to start a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THESE CROOK$? I need to speak to an attorney but cannot afford any fees. Is anyone reading this an attorney? Do you do any pro-bono work if so? Please help me, this company, and others, I am sure - ARE RIPPING OFF MANY PEOPLE AND NEED TO BE STOPPED!!

I placed an order with Thrive Market online and was signed up for their free trial. They sent me an email saying my trial was to expire and I told them to cancel my membership.

They continuely send me emails with sales etc but I delete them routinely. I just discovered on my bank statement that they took $64.75 from my bank account for "annual fees".

They do not have any way of talking to a real person with any contact info they give and you can't leave a message. There doesn't seem to be any way to actually contact the company about cancellations and from info obtained online this is their standard business practice and have many complaints about the same problem I'm having.

I just want my original cancellation with no "annual fees".

In April of 2017 I placed an order for a product that was being offered for just shipping. On May 22nd A $60 membership fee was deducted from my checking account. I went to the Thrive Market website to find the place to contact the company to cancel my account and could only find a way to send an email to ask questions. I sent an email telling them I want my money refunded and my membership cancelled. I received an email back saying my membership was canceled and refunded in 2015 There was a phone number on the email to call, so I called to speak to customer service for clarification. Turns out I didn't realize that when I sent away for a free product last time I used my email, and this time I used the email attached to my facebook account, which is a different email. I was told that the last time they canceled my account they gave me a courtesy refund and that they could give me a six month membership and give me back half my money. I told them I didn't want half my money back, I wanted it all back and my membership canceled. I will admit I was not very nice-but the money they had deducted from my account caused my rent check to bounce and a $30 overdraft fee that I couldn't afford. Plus, now I was out $60 and as a result, $90 short for rent. When the Customer Service Rep wouldn't help me I asked to be sent to a supervisor, who basically kept repeating the same things and was unwilling to help. She told me she was the end of the line and I couldn't go above her for help. There is no contact information for Thrive on their website or pretty much anywhere else. I was able to find the names Nick Green, Gunnar Lovelace and Kate Mullen as the co founders, but no way to contact them. I just want my money back and the account canceled. They told me they had sent an email on May 15th saying they would take money from my account. I looked through even my spam folder, and while I did find some emails offering deals, there was nothing notifying me of the deduction. If I had seen one, I would have canceled earlier.

Started a free 30 day trial, got my first order and decided it wasn't for me, called in and cancelled, thought that was the end of the story. A few years later they've charged me for 3yrs worth of memberships. First of all they did not send me any notice the first year stating that they were going to charge me the initial membership fee, then i missed the next year's email stating that i'm going to be charge, then i caught it this year.

Spoke with several supervisors Adelia, then matt) adelia flat out told me she's not going to give me my money back for the years before this. Matt told me that he can't do anything about my feeling "inconvenienced", gave me a phone number to speak to an owner 424-543-1011, that number was to voice mail hell.

After speaking to matt and having him tell me it's my fault for not seeing the second year's email that they would charge me i asked him: "do you think you deserve my membership fees if i cancelled before the trial was over, do you think that's some kind of "incovenience", he then stated that he mispoke and to call 424-543-1011 and let them know that i've dealt with them and not to direct or transfer me back to them.

Making money by flying under people's radar with membership fees is not a legitimate way to engender trust and a good name for your company. Like i said to matt, 1 time is a coincidence, 2 times is a trend, you can't have so many people having the same issue with cancellations as you see here on outscam.com.

Like most people have reported, i took advantage of an offer for free avocado mayonnaise and i even checked very closely that there was not anything more behind it. I told my friends about it and said that it seemed pretty legit all you have to pay for is shipping. Luckily they did not sign up for it because i was charged $60 for a membership. I wrote to them and surprisingly they responded pretty fast and said, no problem they would cancel my membership and refund my account in 3-10 days. Well, i of course did not receive my refund yet and just emailed them again. Due to them charging me, my rent check overdrafted my checking account along with another bill so i ended up also paying $70 in overdraft fees due to this. So far i have been somewhat nice to them but if this is not resolved now, it will get nasty.

I purchased one product and nothing was mentioned about enrolling in a membership. A month after my purchase, they charged my credit card a yearly fee of $59.95. Disgusting and unethical business practices.
