Thomas D. Harper, Esq., Ltd. Reviews

  • Jan 11, 2018

I was contacted by Thomas D. Harper Esq stated he was an Estate Tax Attorney in Las Vegas and can provide private funding for commercial fix and flip loans of which I immediately expressed my interest in using his services. Mr. Harper stated that he was a practicing lawyer and would fund with either his personal funds or his clients and would fund within 14 days of my covering the costs of underwriting and PPI insurance.

Sounded reasonable and since he was an attorney I basically trusted their services and paid $12,000 wired to the designated Transfer Agent who would execute the PPI insurance and complete the underwriting documents. Again, seemed reasonable and i don't expect work without paying for the services but I full well expect to receive what I contracted for.

Wired the underwriting costs on 09/14/2017 and on the next day Thomas Harper called to state that there had been a mistake and the funds had been wired to the wrong agent of which he attempted to blame the mistake on me & I immediately forced him to admit to me on the phone and emial that the mistake was his since he had called me that morning several times while I was in the DMV office renewing my drivers license.

That mistake seemed very questionable but Mr. Harper guaranteed that the other agent would not touch the funds and just request a recall on the bank wire. I ordered the recall of the wire and US Bank did everything they could to stall and make life difficult with no responses to our formal requests then after 3 weeks US Bank admitted that the funds had been taken.

During the waiting period with US Bank Harper attempted to pressure me into sending another payment and just wait on the other funds to reverse back to my account. I agreed to structure a bridge loan while we were waiting on the funds to reverse and I did elect to send $2500 for the bridge which never was provided. We negotiated the amount down to $800 due to the funds that I had paid previously to Thomas Harper and was to be a compromise.

After 3 weeks the bank finally communicated with my bank and no loans Thomas Harper disappeared for a month. Then after one month Harper emailed me that I would be contacted by the lender and his bank gave me an email address which was the wiring dept of the bank. Ultimately, that lender was Michael Sears of M & L Financial Services offering the funds and showing the deposit in the bank account but requiring me to deposit $100 into the bank to receive my funding.

I paid the $100 then the next day I was told that there was a mistake and the amount to activate my accouny was $3250 needed to be deposited into the account to release the funds. I checked out the bank and it had been deactivated in 2011 and no longer on the FDIC bank list plus the firm that purchase their bank charter stated that the charter is no longer in business.

Ultimately, after paying the $800 to M & L Financial Services I was told to expect the wire transfer to my bank account on 01/05/2018. On 01/06/2018 Michael Sears contacted me and stated asked why hadn't I told him the wired funds had made it to my account. I stated that no funds had arrived to my account and was told to hold on. Received another message that my bank had refused the bank wire due to being too large for my account.

The problem is that i had my bank on notice of my pending wire transfer a week earlier and I was concerned that something had gone wrong on my side.

The fact is my bank never received a potential bank wire from Chase Bank to my account and Michael Sears then sent me a copy of a so called Chase Bank notification listing his business and my first name but no reference to the recieveing bank or account to prove where the attempted wire was sent.

Michael Sears could not provide me with evidence of the wire with account information and routing numbers but is demainding that I pay the additional $2000 and he would fund me in 30 minutes.

I requested my loan as spelled out in his Letter of Funding Guarantee and Contract for Funding Agreement from Thomas D. Harper of which is probably worth the paper it is written on.

These people are well connected and can produce any type of bank documents you can imagine. Do not send these people your money as Thomas D. Harper and Michael Sears both together are operating a sophisticated bank document and fake private lending program using the idea that Thomas D. Harper is an attorney but now is no longer a practicing attorney in Nevada.
