I should have written this two years ago, but because of other issues which I posted about here, never got around to actually seeing this product till now, and on top of what Im posting about, will post recent information others have posted as well because it seems from the date I purchased my case from Thermaltake, their practices and services seem to have gone down hill. Most of the damaged items were thrown out long ago. Its what I am seeing now that needs addressing, as it is still happening two year later.
Thermaltake manufactures many computer components for those who like building their pcs from the ground up. The old saying of you get what you pay for, definately does not apply to Thermaltake. They charge extremely high prices for their equipment, which makes building a PC much easier for those who have never built a PC before, or at least that was their intent. You will end up paying three times as much for their components, yet the quality of their parts are as if they were manufactured in some foreign sweatshop.
Verafied complaints include incorrect or missing drill holes, missing machine punched standoffs for motherboard placement where the punched screw holes are either missing, or incorrectly placed and do not match up with the motherboards. The same thing applies to the fan standoffs. They are either missing, or incorrectly installed where they cant even hold the companies own fans made specifically for their cases.
They have a lot of complaints for not honoring rebates. I can attest to this as I never recieved my rebate on this case Im writing about either. Ill be writing a review on this company in a few days, but want to put a ripoff warning now so others dont get ripped off. Thermaltake could have been the leading manufacture in parts, but because of the above, Id stay clear of them.
Now for the recent issuse with confirms issues reported in the past. It seems Thermaltake is selling old and used or refurbished parts as new. Two seperate orders placed from a different company in which Thermaltake dropships, the first order recieved included proper packaging, supplies for installing the fans in their own cases or someone elses. The second order in which they dropshipped the second fan included only a refurbished fan with a defective sticker on it. The fan was DOA, with no packaging or installation supplies. Complaints I have read about and now can confirm is people getting used and refurbished cases with the issues above as well.
The case I purchased not only was supposed to come with two top fans, one rear, two front, and one side, and was advertised as such, only came with one rear, and one top. Most of the parts needed to build a pc like mounting screws, washers, all were missing, or incorrect size. What suprised me was the fact the motherboard risers came with wood screws. Either Thermaltake just threw in whatever was laying around, or they shipped me a used case someone else sent back. Im ihncluding pictures of the used fan shipped me yesterday.
